Week 4 - Baltimore Ravens at Buffalo Bills

3,508 posts in this topic

joe has these games guys, all qb's have these games, we see games like this almost every year, just not this bad lol. with pass protection and an at least serviceable running game, there wouldnt have been 5 picks, maybe 2 or 3, but with a running game this game would have been won. joe is gonna light it up sooner or later, and get on a total hot streak, and all these flacco bashers calling for joes head will be praising him. ravens fans are so ridiculous i swear, this man was our super bowl mvp and carried our team to our 2nd super bowl less than a year ago, he didnt just suddenly lose his ability, he lost his 2 top targets and his entire run game, and yes that will affect even the best qb's. if pitta were here instead of clark and dickson, and if castillo never came in and ruined our o-line, we would be 3-1 right now and joe would have some nice numbers, we maybe wouldve even beat denver because we wouldnt have dropped 9 passes. this isnt all on joe

McKinnie said on his show after the Cleveland game that at halftime they decided to ditch the new strategy and the newly incorporated fundementals and go back to the way they had been playing...it worked it the second half!  I am laying the majority of the  blame on Castillo for this poor O-line and run game until he proves otherwise...run game coordinator, yeah right!!!

I think you should probably just stop and go take a nap or something.

So he didn't throw 5 interceptions? last time I checked, a stat sheet doesn't have asterisks next to INTS if your receiver tips it to somebody else....most of those picks were on him

How come he doesn't get a PERIOD?  I got two.

There's your problem right there ... stop reading stat sheets and watch football games.

What exactly does being from Baltimore have to do with formulating reasonable opinions about the Ravens?

yes, because getting mad @ a QB that threw 5 INTs is insane.

no, but getting mad at JUST the QB after today's performance only shows you either 1. don't really watch the games or 2. don't know anything about what you're watching.

Joe forced some throws today. I'd give 3 of those INTs to Joe. However, if you put the ball into your receivers' hands over and over and over and they drop them, your O line is giving you zero protection, your running game is non-existent, yet your OC spent the first half running on 1st & 2nd down, and you're still trying to win the game for your team, what do you do? You try to force the ball into tight windows.

So yeah, being mad at Flacco is fine but the loss is absolutely not all on Flacco.

The only part of the team I'm absolving right now is the defense.

Born and raised in Baltimore ... lived there for 30 years... moved to Seattle for school and work.  Orioles fan since I was 3 ... Colts fan since I was 6 (before the Mayflowers came) ...Ravens fan since the second they announced the teams name.

See ... there's your problem again ... reading stats and not paying attention to anything else going on.  PERIOD.  (I didn't want you to use all yours up without getting any back)

I think we have always been inconsistent on offense for years...but this year's offense is a-whole-nother level of inconsistent. At least in the past we would look bad one game and great another game. This year we cant even play a full game with an established offense...ughhh

This is the problem with people that "don't panic." They waste so much time and have very little sense of urgency early in the process. Our playcalling was the worst!

Well that sucked. Of the 5 Flacco picks, I can name 3 off the top of my head that weren't his fault. Two were drops (Dixon must have dropped 3x as many passes on the year as he caught) and one in which he was under pressure from two guys right in his face.

Can't really blame the defense besides the late hit on Suggs.

although we had 5 turn overs this was a close game .... they played great football .... Doh

and what's wrong with that? If Suggs wasn't flagged, we could have still won that game. We were right in it until that play despite a pitiful performance

'Cmon, your a better judge of play than that. If you can, go back and look at it. He wrapped his arms around him and tackled him. it was a BS call.

Well, Flacco has a way to lay at least a few ostrich eggs each year. This year he seems to be extremely fertile. Let's hope he shakes off his fertility! He needs to get back to playing good mistake free football. We all know he is capable of it every now and then.

Hopefully over the next 4 games I will be glad if we can go 3-1. Otherwise, we just need to make sure we are ready for next year.

I don't even recognize the majority of these posters calling for Flacco's head right now. Just jump on the wagon after the SB win eh?

Go study some football. You can't remove the running game (because the O line can't open any lanes at all!) and expect to have a passing game. Just like you can't eliminate the passing game and expect to be successful in the run game. Especially when that same O line can't pass protect either and you have zero time in the pocket.

Sure, Flacco forced some of those throws but do you blame him? Outside of Brown & Torrey (what happened to Brown btw?) not one single receiving option can catch a ball.

I don't like this (type of post). It's a go-to for many; label someone a bandwagoner should their opinion vastly differ.

Defense allowed over 200 rush yards. And they are blameless? Okeedokee
