Week 4 - Baltimore Ravens at Buffalo Bills

Joe Flacco was under distress the entire game. He had a porous OL that couldn't give him much time to throw the ball nor gave the RB much room if any to run the ball. We had questionable calls as well as fluky things that happened that caused at least two of those INTs, both on TEs. The throw to Rice in the endzone was a questionable decision, and Joe himself made a lot of bad decisions this game. Even still, I can't blame the game on Joe. He screwed up. But the entire game isn't on him. We didn't lose because of Flacco. 

Ugh. I hate arguing semantics. We lost mostly because of him. yes it's a team game. Take those 5 picks away, heck even that last one, we have a chance. That last play was his chance to redeem himself after the previous 4 picks.

 

What did he do with that chance?

Honestly, I don;'t see how this is anyone else's fault than Joe's. The Run D is the next worst culprit, but had we a QB that didn't throw 5 picks, they would be a non-factor.

Yet atleasy 3 or 4 of them were WR's fault? Did you see how many drops we had?

Adapt to his core? How is he supposed to adapt to a core that can't run their routes correctly, don't fight one iota for the ball, don't get any separation at all, and can't catch when the ball is put right into their hands? Not to mention he has zero time because the O line can't protect, and can't open any lanes for the running game..

 

What do you want him to do exactly?

 

Be elite.

Don't you understand, the truly great QBs can overcome all that plus terrible play calling!!

Amen. No fire in this team. Joe needs to step out of his "quiet leader" trope and try to get these guys to come together. 

Okay enough of the "Joe needs to yell at his players talk" Joe isn't that type of guy. He leads with his play. When Joe plays bad the whole team loses, and when Joe plays great we win. Period.

5 Ints and 200 yards rushing allowed did us in. Yet we lost by 3 points. This game is stunningly unpredictable. Don't know what contributed more to our loss. Flacco or our run D!

Well, his helmet came off. I'm not surprised. I don't think it deserved a penalty, but to be fair his helmet was taken off and Suggs didn't need to make a move like that. Suggs should have known better. Regardless, it happened and nothing we can do about it now. Oh well. Good game, Bills.

this game was lost because we have no defense and we have no offense and I said before the run game is non existent . no clue what happened to the defense of last week but this loss was ridiculous. bench gradowski and fire Castillo . that's really all I have to say .I don't want to hear it will be better next week we arte champions its about time we play like them  consistently . 5 interceptions. byh rookies.

Not throw the ball to the other team, for starters? He's forcing some throws is all. I'm not saying they're impossible balls. There are plenty of teams in this league that are worse off WR-wise (unless you seriously think we have the worst set of WRs in the league, which is laughable) and their QBs aren't throwing 5 INTs. 5 INTs is awful, I don't care if you're Mark Sanchez or Peyton Manning.

I'm not arguing semantics. I admit Joe had a tough game and was off the entire game. He didn't play well but he tried to win this game and he did force throws. He tried to do what he did with Pitta & Boldin. It just didn't work as well. Some of the throws he forced did work. Most of them did not. I admit he shouldn't have thrown the ball to Rice. I still don't get that one in the endzone. But the entire game isn't on Joe. It's on the run game and the OL. If those had been established, it wouldn't have come down to this. Any QB put in that situation would be having a tough game. If Joe didn't turn over the ball, we probably would have turned the ball over on downs.
