Why is he paid more than half of those elite QBs then? :P

Only reason Peyton didn't get more guaranteed money is because of his neck injury.

Tom Brady didn't actually take a pay cut, he just go paid upfront. Win win for both sides.

Flacco isn't getting more than Brees or Rodgers.

You didn't answer my question though. Why are Eli, Stafford, Ryan, and Romo getting paid like elites when they're not?

The FO didn't have a choice. That's the market.
Ryan, Eli, Romo, and Stafford aren't "elite" either. They're also paid like it.
People hype up eliteness as if it's everything yet Ben, Eli, and Flacco have won more SBs in recent years than Brady, Peyton, Brees, and Rodgers.

Lol..you do know flacco's contract is the one dictated rest of those contracts right? Staff, Ryan,Romo contract came after flaccos. Eli's contract is nowhere close to flaccos. So yes, 'market' is a bit skewed, and all future mediocre QBs can thank flacco for that. Im wondering what Flacco is going to do next year and years after that. B/C his stinking contract eats up 1/5 of the whole teams salary.

Flacco doesn't even have the second highest cap hit on the team next year. But thanks for making it clear that you don't understand how NFL contracts work.

I used Eli as an example because at the time if his highly outdated contract, he was the richest QB in the league (by total dollars, which is meaningless, in the same way that it's meaningless for Flacco). I'm sure there were Giants fans just like you crying about it, saying he didn't deserve it. He wins a second ring, they shut up. He struggles behind a terrible OL this year (sounds familiar) and they're at it again. No pleasing some people.

Nobody forced Arthur Blank and Jerry Jones to exceed Flacco's contract. They had no choice because THAT'S the market. If Flacco hit FA he would've gotten a similar deal, as would have Ryan and Romo and probably Stafford too.

You said more than half.

And I just looked up the details of Peyton's contract. It was essentially a one year deal, but since he remained healthy last season, the original contract guarantees $58M.

So actually, Flacco isn't making more than Peyton either.

Theres zero chance flacco wouldve been paid 120m.

And as for "Nobody forced Arthur Blank and Jerry Jones to exceed Flacco's contract. They had no choice because THAT'S the market" i just told you flacco is the one that dictated that market.

As for eli, his still overrated. Only person asanine to believe he is elite are flacco apologist or any other dud QBs that are overpaid(sanchize).

He wouldn't have been paid that much. Which is why I said similar, not same. He was already looking at at least $16-$17M per BEFORE he won the Super Bowl, especially with guys like Kevin Kolb getting like $13M per in 2011 (not that total dollars mean anything, because they DON'T). That's what sets the market. If a guy like Kolb can get that much, and if guys like Bradford and Stafford exceed that on their rookie deals, someone like a Flacco, Ryan or Romo is going to greatly exceed that. I hear some people say the Ravens should've given Flacco no more than $15M. That's talk from someone who knows zero about NFL contracts.

Whether or not you think Eli is overrated is irrelevant. People in this league are paid to win, and Eli has done that both before AND after his massive contract. But I guess since he's killing fantasy teams this year he's terrible.

So Flacco isn't getting paid more than Brees, Rodgers, or Peyton.

And after looking up the details of Brady's deal, looks like Brady gets $57M guaranteed as long as he's on the roster at the end of next year. Brady is pretty much ageless, so that's pretty likely barring something catastrophic.

So look at that. Flacco isn't guaranteed more money than ANY of them.

How about that.

I have a feeling you are going to beat the dead horse and is intent on proving me flacco is worth the money.  lol

Are you talking about guranteed money only? because im pretty sure flacco wont leave rest of the money @ contract off the table.

he will be restricted u see, so he technically won't see anything after year 3. It's a three yr deal, all those big deals are. Brady has been re done a few times, Ben has also

Guaranteed money is the only money that matters in NFL contracts. The rest of the contract isn't worth the paper it's printed on.

Exactly, the way it's structured allows the Ravens to reevaluate him in three years.

drew brees.

elite.if you think tht if we played the saints and wouldnt be exposed like the dolphins today then you are mistaken. breesis everything flacco wansts to be a prolific passer with high complettion ratings.

That depends when and where we played. A lot that goes in to individual match ups. Our offense is struggling now but will by the time December roles around and it matters most. Also the defensive communication would have to be spot in to slow the saints down and apply pressure to Brees quickly. Have to disguise coverages at a high level as well. Again. Our defense will be much better as the year goes on as well. And New Orleans and Baltimore each have very good home field advantages so that would be a huge factor. Regardless it would most likely bd a one score game.
