What would be helpfull in this situation if Jones made a statement to the media like "Yeah, I was in the wrojg place at the wrong time and I got hit by the bottle, but everything is fine. I should of known better and Im ready to put this behind us and to focus on football, to get healthy and win games for this football team, GO RAVENS, Oh, Happy Birthday, Big Mac, you Party Animal, you". Of course if there's more to the story on the legal end, he may not want to make any statement. No reason to give Sweet Pea more ammunition.

I shook my head when I read this.  We don't need this publicity.  I'm not calling for anyone's head or saying they shouldn't celebrate their birthdays, but at least do it in a professional manner.  Making all this money and blowing it on something completely worthless. And it only hurts the organization's image. Jacoby's already hurt. Didn't need this. For all those wanting to give them a pass, go tell that to Harbaugh. See what his answer is.

Some of you are acting like you would just cut McKinnie!!!

Please... every team has guys like that. A strong locker room keeps those types of things under wraps.. Point blank period.

Wow. Some are making way too much of this. A freakin' accident or whatever happened at a throw down birthday party. No one was seriously injured, no trouble with the law. Obviously, they should be more discreet in the future, but it's nothing to hang them over. The whole world can't be full of Joe Flaccos and Todd Heaps(God love 'em!),

Enough already. It's over. Done. Let's play football!

Not McKinnie's first incident with a thing like this. Wink wink, nudge nudge.

I really don't see what the big deal is.  Boys will be boys.  Society has some pretty silly expectations about how athletes should comport themselves when off the field.

McKinnie is quite the bacchanalian, guy cracks me up.  Such an uncommitted, lazy, man-child buffoon.  Gets by entirely on natural size and skill, probably sneaks out for hammock naps and bologna sandwiches during film study.  Blows all his money, in deep debt, lazing around run blocking and double facemasking guys out there.  It should all make me angry because "he's betraying the Ravens who are paying him millions," but I can't help but just laugh at the big oaf.

Lot of judgmental married types with the "I'm a good god-fearin' man stuck in a 9/5 with my middling wife, commonplace job, and boring family....while this blimp-like rascal is downing champagne and making millions!  It's...immature!"  Might as well let the guy have his fun, we're not reforming him at this point and his second consecutive training camp of nincempoopery should've already tipped us off.  I hope I'm a dirty old drunkard in the nursing home fifty years from now, much less at 34.  I'd certainly go for a higher class of woman, though....

I sincerely hope you don't get condemned to a nursing home. I worked in one during one of my clinicals and I would rather receive euthanasia than go there.

It just so happens that Jacoby and McKinnie were the ones who missed practices this year because of conditioning. Coincidence or pattern of behavior? I don't know. I hope someone in the Ravens is a little more than just "unimpressed". McKinnie needs to be replaced and Jacoby has already started to be.

I'm not really concerned ... They're young millionaires with a history of quationable decisions. It was a bus with strippers... not a crime. Sure, I'm disappointed... but they're adults.

Exactly.  If no one was looking, we'd all like to be like Bryant McKinnie.

As disappointed as I am, it's not really that big of a deal. Nobody died, and nobody got seriously hurt. McKinnie is still going to be at LT next week, and no reports have said this will delay Jacoby's recovery. Big whoop!

Yup, it's just fodder that has to be worked through the news cycles and we'll have a few jokes our way. It is funny, there's not much else you can do but laugh. Harbaugh's reaction as a disappointed parent was humorous, too.

Wagner if he can play LT, otherwise we have draft picks every year.

Wagner couldn't handle RT, he definitely is not capable of playing LT right now.  In the long term the plan, I have to assume, is replacing McKinnie at the end of this year.

As of right now, there's no one who can take his job and play at the same level, like it or not.

I didn't say he would be replaced this year, but he won't be around next year.

Think that's a forgone conclusion.  I'd be highly surprised if the FO was going to keep him past this season.

I was just laughing when I found this out. For some reason I knew McKinnie had to be involved even though news sources didn't mention his name on the headlines

Just so we're clear on what you're saying, do you intend to be doing work on the night of your birthday?

I assure you, I will be in bed because I have to be up at 5am to get ready for my job and help get kids ready for school. I am 48 years old and happily married (even though she was born and raised in Pittsburgh and is  a die-hard football and Steelers fan), so I do not hang with strippers named "Sweet Pea" at 2am. So to answer your question, I will be in bed.

I don't expect young, single, football stars to be saints, but they need to be a little more careful. Being a police officer in Baltimore City for 21 years, I know the trouble that lurks out there for one to get into if they start looking, especially when you add alcohol in the mix. It just is not worth it. I think it may have been a good early lesson to be learned from, I am thankful no one got seriously hurt or in ended up in legal trouble. I'd be willing to bet it was addressed properly and our players will be cool from here on out. We are certainly not the Bengals.

One would have thought McKinnie's last few problems involving strippers would have been good learning opportunities too, though. Maybe at least Jacoby learned something.
