Since the Flacco thread go locked, I'll post this here. I just saw that Flacco leads the league in passing yards on 3rd down. That's pretty impressive considering he doesn't even have that many total yards compared to the league leaders. It suggests he gets it done when it matters most, we ask him to do a lot on 3rd downs (and he delivers), and maybe we should be trying to put the ball in his hands more on first and second down because he obviously knows how to move the ball down the field when given the opportunity. Keep up the fantastic season Joe.

Well after beating Texans the Ravens should win this one.

In the Texans game we only scored 1 offensive touchdown, but these are the Buffalo Bills.

My sense is Ray Rice will rest for the game, so it will be up to Bernard Pierce to turn the running game around.  Either that or Gradkowski and friends.  We really have not run effectively for a long time. A very long time.

Buffalo can rush the quarterback, so we need to stay away from throwing on 1st and 2nd down. Pound the ball.....pound the ball...pound the ball.....hit it up in there.  150 yards rushing will win it.

"should win" are the operative words..."will win" is another issue to me.  imo, at the moment, this Ravens offense has shown me nothing remotely to being an efficient offense that plays with swagger and confidence to run or pass at will and move the chains consistently in order to put up TDs to finish off drives.  absolutely nothing after 3 games now.  smh!  they struggled these last 2 games...at home mind you....and now...they go on the road for 2 games.  of course, my expectation is that the Ravens will win this game but not as "easily" as others are suggesting or implying. they can't look past or over "ANY" team right now the way they've played.

You are on the money I think. For whatever reason, our offense doesn't inspire the same confidence it did say last year. They are sputtering on all fronts right now, partly due to the receiving corps and RB corps, but also due to Joe's not getting into a rhythm soon enough in games. He takes a quarter and a half to get some short and intermediate accuracy it seems like. So, we are basically as good as Flacco is.

I think it's pretty inaccurate to say that the thing most detrimental to the offense is NOT the running game is inaccurate.  If there's one thing we're bad at it's running the ball.

This offense is as good as the play around Flacco imo. Has Joe missed some throws? Yes but I not enough to suggest he's struggling with accuracy early in games. This offense has been plagued by drops and penalties more then the inaccuracy or slow starts by Flacco. You are correct we are not playing with that same offensive swagger from a year ago and right now it's hard to operate in long yardage situations.

I honest don't understand why so many are suprised or upset by the offense right now. With the losses we've had and the new additions we've had to the offense, it should be expected to struggle a bit and take some time to get going. Flacco said it best, they're close, they just have to win ugly for a bit. I think we all forget that even though Gino is technically the only new starter on the oline, KO only had 4 games of experience at LG so he's still learning as well. The offense can't just plug and play like the defense, it takes time for offensive guys to gel and develop that swagger.

I agree with you for the most part, but I disagree with the Flacco comment. Not saying he's without fault, but if not for drops and penalties over the first 3 games this offense would be a lot farther along imo. Remember Flacco has had at least 3 sure TDs dropped this year and a possible 4th TD taken away with the Doss PI call. I wonder how much confidence this offense would be playing with had those plays been made.

Saw Dameshek's predictions today - I thought it was so funny how he still can't cut the Ravens any slack, ha ha. According to him, the Ravens are going to lose 20-23, while the Steelers pull out a win. I really can't stand the guy

I don't think the guy has a mirror at home either. I do not believe he can stand himself. He is the epitome of obnoxiousness.

Include an OL that cannot seem to open run lanes. Having no running game is a new experience for Joe and the rest of the offense. Is it the new Center, the new run game coordinator or both? I am still trying to figure out what has gone wrong in the area of usual team strength.

I guess I've been spoiled and took the run game for granted. During the preseason I even argued that the run game would be fine. I was wrong! It is a huge question mark. Teams are shutting down the run and daring Joe to beat them in the air with mostly unfamiliar wrs and no TE to worry about.

Brandon Williams making his debut finally! CanÄt wait to see him out there, he'll be a big upgrade over Cody. Arthur Brown is inactive. Hm.

Rice active

Plus Rookie NT Brandon Williams will debut today after being injured in the first three games. Things are looking up for us, just wish we could get Pitta back sooner.

Ugh... Scott Chandler could have a good game with Brown inactive.
