Browns looking to trade WR's (and more?)

82 posts in this topic

I'm not doubting his ability.  He may be worth it.  I'm just saying I wouldn't do it.  During training camp, maybe, or even preseason.  I've seen improvement each game so far from us, and I don't want anything to stunt that.  Maybe trade for him just before our bye week, which coincides with the deadline.  I still wouldn't throw a 2nd, though.  I think there are plenty of WRs in the draft this year that we could grab if we kept our picks.

Gordon, Smith, Brown would be a pretty deadly combination, even assuming Jacoby doesn't come back and Deonte and Melette don't turn into anything other than role players.

I wish their TE (Jordan Cameron i think is his name?) was available. That kid can play and is only going to get better. Pair him with a healthy Pitta, Torrey and Marlon Brown and you've got a solid young group to grow with Joe.

Can't see the Browns listening to any offers though.

Realistically though I don't see us doing much more than looking through the Browns cupboard and then moving on with what we've got.

Gordon would be a Beat for this team. A True #1 opposite of Torrey. With Brown underneath using his big body and a healthy pitta back that would be one hell off a recieving corp.

They aint given Gordon up for anything less than a High 2nd. I think hes worth it. Still a couple years left on rookie contract and he is a true game breaker like AJ Green or Julio Jones.

On a good team with solid coaching and direction, he would do well.

I highly doubt however, they would deal him to the ravens.

I'm not the most educated on Gordon, but can someone please explain to me why he is so hyped and what he's done to earn the hype?

6'3
220
4.5 40 but plays much faster than that

He's a Dez Bryant clone.

But instead of being a diva. HES A POTHEAD.

Difference being is that this problem is fixable

His numbers last year were eerily similar to Torreys, but with two less TDs.  One season in the league, 800 yards, 5 TDs and he's already being crowned?  I get that playing for the Browns doesn't help at all, but still.

Imagine what he could do with a QB like Flacco?

Now if only Ozzie would.

We know Steve does lol. I still remember the season ending press conference where he mentioned almost every thread that was made following the Evans/Cundiff disaster. I still can't figure out who said to fire Ozzie lol.

If the Browns listened to offers for Trent, they will listen to offers for Cameron, give it a shot.

Gordon is too risky for an early pick. One bust and he is done for a season. He's talented but not a #1 by any stretch. He is still very raw.

I would definitely give up a 4th rounder for Josh Gordon. He put up Torrey Smith type numbers last season with the Brandon Weadon (50rec/805yds/5TD) an put up 168 total yards and a score against the Vikings yesterday on 10 catches...while some of our WRs have trouble catching a single pass. He would be a big upgrade to Jacoby Jones on the outside than once Jones gets healthy and stops pissing off strippers and getting hit with bottles...we would have a really good group of WRs.

Smith

Gordon

Jones

Brown

Stokely

He didnt look raw yesterday when he caught 10 catches from Hoyer

Gordon put those numbers up against Minnie for FREE. He has to play for free for the first two games he's back because of the substance abuse violation.

He was targeted 19 times. Kinda looked like they were forcing the ball to him, besides Minny is awful on D.

He also got a carry. They were definitely looking to get the ball in his hands as much as possible.

Talented player but I highly doubt we trade for him.

Josh Gordon: The Browns are not trading him.

If they don't trade him, it's not because they want to keep Gordon. It's because the offers they received weren't enough. "[Chud] texted me the other day talking about it and just reassuring me there were no trade offers or anything like that," Gordon said. "The fact that [Chud] said there wasn’t [a plan to trade me], it makes me feel a little more comfortable."

Nothing on the Browns team is worth a 1st round pick, well except Joe Thomas.  We need to give them a call!....

According to Adam Schefter's FB, the 49ers have contacted the Browns regarding the status of Josh Gordon but says it is unlikely with the 49ers soon getting Manningham and Crabtree back.

Browns-49ers have discussed trade for WR Josh Gordon. Deal unlikely with Mario Manningham coming off PUP, Crabtree slated to return in Nov.
