Week 3 - Baltimore Ravens vs. Houston Texans

2,435 posts in this topic

I have to say for Joe personally this was a very good game - it's probably his best game against Houston since 2010. He didn't put up any TDs, but he completed 67 percent of his passes and had no turnovers, and considering he was facing both Ed Reed and his arch nemesis JJ, I think it was a good performance.

And I've never seen him abuse a defense with hard counts the way he did today. The lack of points is not on him. I think the OL is the real albatross on this team. Amazing the difference one player makes, even one as ancient as Birk.

Sorry no participation from me today... I was at the game. Thoughts :
Jimmy Smith is gaining confidence and playing well.
Art Jones needs to be signed ASAP
Ngata had a nice sack but mostly was pushed around
Elam played sound, game is slowing down.
Upshaw was very good at setting the edge.
Sizzle is Sizzle , had a few rare edge setting mistakes.
D.Smith was pretty great after the first quarter.
Webby is Webby. Solid.

Yanda had a bad game in my eyes.
Oher did OK after he settled in
Big Mac ( see above )
Gradkowski yeeeessshhh. not very good
KO did ok in pass pro, not much else.
Pierce kept pounding and was close to breaking a couple
Leach was pretty rough, as he's been all season.
Torrey had a nice steady day. He doesn't disappear anymore.
Marlon had a rookie day.
Dallas had one drop, but key first downs

Doss played extremely well on teams.
Tucker was solid.
Penalties were killing us!

This was definitely a great game to go to.  The weather was perfect, the outcome fantastic, Ray Lewis being in house was great (opening & halftime).

I totally agree with ya. A. Jones needs to be locked up for a long term deal.

Gino run blocking terrible just like most of his fellow line men. He did played solid on pass protection as the only pressure came from around the edge - outside.

That JJ Swatt flip was probably the highlight of the night for OL this day.

Penalties were brutal. McKinnie single handedly killed the 2nd quarter drive with x2 15 yarders.

Need to clean that up when it comes to divisional games.

just went back and watched the NFL Today and notice that (as usual) the majority of the analyst picked the Texans to win the game....Esiason, Sharp, and Marino.  only Cowher picked the Ravens.

hey analysts....Ravens 30, Texans 9

how you like us now?  LOL!!

I don't know if you guys at the game saw Ray say something to the ref after he got done reviewing the Doss PR TD, but I imagine he said something like "You better not overturn that TD today!" - The ref was almost cracking up as he confirmed the TD. It was great.
