Am I the only ones who find people like Hardbaugh and edreedfromtheu to be hilarious trolls.

Seriously, edreedfromtheu used to start talks about how guys like Troy Smith and Marc Bugler were better than Flacco and that the Ravens could never win with Flacco.

However, when the Ravens won the superbowl, edreedfromtheu never posted once during the playoffs run. It is the same thing with Hardbaugh. Both guys disappeared when the Ravens win and Flacco play well.

You shouldn't take guys like these seriously. They are not actual fans who want the team to win. They would rather the team lose so they can hate on Flacco.

However, neither one of them hold a candle to Wizard1 who had some of the most bizzare and insane comments. He sounded like a guy out of a mental hospital.

No, I don't find them hilarious at all. Trolls, yes. Blind, yes. Uneducated (football), yes. Not worth debating, yes. Hypocritical, yes. Hilarious or entertaining, no!!

Yes! I called that one post being deleted. Anyway can we please just close this joke of a thread? It's just like all the threads last year about Flacco (who by the way won the superbowl, a car, superbowl MVP and tied JOE MONTANA's record) also he has two children and a wife. Doing way better than some of us. Without Joe we would be nowhere right now. Joe Flacco is cool. Deal with it. People.

It's a horrible argument to bring up Brady.

You're assuming all of us expected the Patriots to dominate this year like they have in the past. That's not the case. They have absolutely no threat of a running game, their defense can't get them the ball back by forcing 3 and outs so they don't get to build a rythm early like they did in years past. And you say they lost Welker, but Welker has had quite a few drops... especially in big games.... the last few years. So guess what... Brady and ALL OTHER QB's have receivers who drop the ball. How many touchdowns has Calvin Johnson himself lost due to dropping the ball? You keep pointing out any other possible outcome than blaming Flacco.... but at the end of the day, if you want to pay the QB like he's the most important person on the team, then he better play well more consistently than what Flacco does.

And hey, it's only 2 weeks in. And while I did expect them to be 1-1 at this point.... and I did expect them to play Denver close... I definitely didn't expect them to be pretty much shut out by the Browns on the home opener in Baltimore. Especially after an extended week to rest and prepare...

I'm not even reading anymore then the first line... The Pats have a better running game then us, thus far...

understatement; should be most of us cuz only 1 person who had Joe's same playoff/SB record and only few players (can count with your fingers) in NFL today who has the life that Joe has right now.

PS: Even Belichick and Brady who won 3 SBs and multiple divisional titles, AFC championships, and playoff appearances still get ripped from their own fan base.  It's nothing new for Joe, but at least my family appreciate what Joe/Harb era have done to the Ravens nation.

Joe Flacco cant make his receivers catch but I cant lie there was some moments against the browns where Joe Flacco seem to over throw the ball to his receivers or  he seems to keep his eye on one receiver  for too long with out scanning the whole field to see if  some one  else is open which may lead to him being sacked or intercepted only if he shall continue to pass the ball to the same receivers he's been looking at for more than he should(only if receiver is struggling to get open )

Bear in mind that a lot of the time a NFL QB looks toward receiver X, he is really waiting for receiver Y to get open and enter into his peripheral vision. It's a strategy for not telegraphing your intended throws. Its not like a friendly pickup game where everybody just does whatever and you wait until you see something develop. This is all diagrammed days in advance. So when Flacco is staring at Torrey, maybe he's waiting for Torrey to get open, but more often he's really waiting on Brown, Stokely, etc. to enter into his peripheral vision. Ideally he shouldn't ever have to "scan the field" because he knows what routes his receivers are supposed to be running, and if they do their job he only needs a very quick glance to ensure that someone is heading to where he's supposed to be, didn't fall down, etc. That was part of the reason Doss got waived after that 3rd preseason game -- Flacco threw to where Doss was supposed to be, but it ended up being an easy interception because Doss was going the wrong way. Its also the reason so few rookie WRs get to play -- they have the raw talent, but aren't skilled enough route runners yet.

Those numbers wouldn't look bad if his receivers and tight ends caught the ball.  Stats don't tell the whole story.  Flacco has played very well so far this year.

Boooooom!

hate to say it, but Flacco has been staring down his targets pretty hard the last couple weeks.

Yeah, I think it's because it's because they're so new.  It's hard to feel new receivers, that's why continuity is so important on offense.

one of the top paid quarterbacks in the game???

I've been tolerant of his weak numbers thus far but it's about to change soon.

If he's able to bring along some young recievers like Brown or others it will go a long way , the way he is paid (AAV)  he needs to do that.

His payday while not handicapping the ravens this season will in future years if lackluster numbers are the order of the day.

Hopefully this is the week Flacco reminds the fanbase why he's paid like one of the great quarterbacks..

I realize that I cannot speak for everyone here but I, for one, am really appreciative that you have been so tolerant for so long of Joe. I shudder to think what would happen to the team, maybe even the planet if you were to lose patience with him. So really, thank you.

Everything that needed to be said in this topic was said in the first two pages. I don't think this was a negative topic, the content of the topic was quite accurate and positive. However the topic title is probably what got OP his -21 rep on that post: heh.

Anyway all the things were brought up:

1) Dropped 3rd down catches from Dickson, Clark and Stokley
2) Dropped TD catches from Clark and 1 from rookie Marlon Brown.
3) When do Drew Brees or Tom Brady start playing like top paid QBs this year? They've been bad too. It'll all balance itself out, especially later on in the year when these guys get more chemistry and Dennis Pitta comes back. This looks like a pretty good set to me for the playoffs:

X: Torrey Smith

Y: Marlon Brown
Z: Jacoby Jones

TE: Dennis Pitta

HB: Ray Rice

this does too:

X: Torrey Smith
Y1: Marlon Brown
Z: Jacoby Jones

Y2: Dallas Clark

TE: Dennis Pitta

HB: Ray Rice

and this

X: Smith

Z: Brown

TE: Pitta

TE2: Clark

RB: Rice

and this

X: Smith

TE: Pitta

TE2: Clark

FB: Leach

RB: Rice

and this:

X: Smith

Z: Jones

Y: Doss

Y: Brown
Y: Thompson

and well, just about every permutation of that.

No running game at all. Rice has 76 yards in 2 games. Pierce has 79. Pathetic !

I don't think either of them has done anything particularly different.   Its more fault of our center & guards not punching any holes.  Major change from last year was Birk to Gino.  Gino is the major culprit.  The guy absolutely stinks @ punching holes.  Zero motor on him..

McKinnie and Oher have been lackluster at well. There really isn't one culprit, they have all been bad.

I feel like we have one of the worst run blocking o-line in the league. They get no push from the interior. I mean how many time I gotta watch Rice getting stopped at the line of scrimmage. Ticks me off way more than passing game for real.

I'd have trust issues too with the majority of this crew

McKinnie has been pretty bad, but I do agree with the guy who said Gino has been the worst of the bunch. To my surprise, KO isn't far behind Gino...our OL has just stunk, and the reason we have no run game, but I'm probably just stating the obvious there.

Can only go up from here, right?

Yeah, that could be it too, the passes to Marlon and Dropson have been the times that it has been most glaring, so I can buy that argument.

I certainly hope so. If you trust PFF grading, they have McKinnie and Oher far worse at run blocking than anyone on the interior. To my eye they have all stunk.

while I want Joe to be more consistent in his gameplay as our QB, these last 2 games he's done pretty well imo.  I saw receivers and tight ends failing Joe by all of the drops and an ineffective running game that barely moved the chains and a very lame pass protection from the O-line.  can't blame every loss or offensive struggle on Joe.
