UPDATE: Trent Richardson traded for then Benched by Colts

They could screw it up the same way they did here.  They just traded the #3 overall pick from last year for pick likely in the 20s (late teens at best) next year.  Not to mention all the picks they gave up to Minnesota to move up to 3 from 4.

 

If only they followed logic both years they could have had Julio Jones and Ryan Tannehill. Instead, they got Richardson and Weeden.

They'd probably be picking in the top 5 again anyway. They'd have a shot of trading up for a Boyd while maintaining Richardson

If Kruger keeps up his performance from this past Sunday then maybe not haha, in all honesty I think we're in line for a few yes. Richardson was swapped for a first rounder, nothing more, which leads me to believe that Gordon could be available for around a 3rd. I'm not completely sold on his ability yet and I don't think our receiver situation is that dire, but it seems like the Browns are intending to have a fire sale, so it would be wrong for us to not inquire

I don't think this is a terrible trade for the Browns. Richardson has been underwhelming, and recouping a first round pick in a loaded draft is nice. They never should have taken him at #3 overall in the first place, and the new management is smart enough to build for the future. Get a QB and a playmaker next year and try to hit at RB in one of the middle rounds like most teams do.

Once again, Mike sees through the board bullcrap.  Silver lining here folks, Trent is injury prone and we got a first round pick. 

 

Trent is a 3rd round back at best, no way he was worth #3 or even a #15.  We just got a 1st round pick.  Jo Schmo off the street could have Richardson's YPC.  

 

He sucked here and we got a 1st round.  I don't know about you, but i just got some respect for Lombardi.  I used to think he was a tool but he was right about the draft richardson/weeden vs tannehill/martin.  And I think he made a great business move.

This isn't Adrian Peterson we're talking about here, he's talented but he's injury prone and his numbers won't win games just look at Darren McFadden. With or without him their season is already over and they need to look to next years draft.
