A Fish Called Yanda

James Harrison's Reaction to Dick LeBeau

15 posts in this topic

I know we have a few Steelers threads open, but they're mostly about how much they're going to suck for the foreseeable future.  I found this on one of the Steelers forums, and I have to say, it's pretty epic.  Makes me respect Harrison, and LeBeau a whole lot more:

I really enjoyed that segment the other night. If you saw Hard Knocks, you got a chance to see James in a different light. He's a pretty cool cat.

Why people assume he's not respected is a bit beyond me...maybe it's just Ravens Haters Homers. The man went un-drafted. Left the Ravens to start with the Steelers and only win a DPOY. He shares his opinion at times and isn't really concerned if you have the same opinion re: comments about Goodell (which majority agree) and not visiting the White House (as other players including Matt Birk chose against) but it's not like no one ever didn't scrutinize great players

I loved this segment with Harrison.  it just goes to show you how these guys develop emotional ties to their team, the city and their coaches.  to see that man tear up at the mention of LeBeau's name...wow!  much respect!!!

Dick LeBeau made him the DPOY; respect for the man show his love to his coach who made him to be the man who he is today.....

PS; I just don't like the yellow nation but not because of their personalities because I don't know them personally.  This interview at least I know James personally....

Just because ESPN zoomed in on Harrison's face, turned up the microphone sensitivity to get a lot of background noise, to make it seem all emotional, does not in fact make it emotional.  It's called TV.

Damn you terps! Now I kinda like Harrison. I hate the Steelers on games day, but they do have some class acts on that team.

He's a Bengal now - so all is right in the world!!!

I commented on this in the Game Thread.  Lebeau has accrued such a huge sphere of influence in his 60+ years of involvement with football.

I'm not saying Harrison doesn't care about LeBeau, but ESPN sure did push it to give us that feeling.
