So we're 1-0 when Joe Flacco's child's born on Game Day. Hopefully he can knock her up exactly nine months before the Super Bowl. :p

He has 2 big smiles bringing to the hospital: a child and a win.  It's going to be a blast for him and his family...

Congratz..

So does Flacco live in NJ, or was the baby just born there? 2013 babies are awesome! (coming from a mother of a 2013 baby) ;) Congratulations to the Flacco family!

Flacco lives in NJ yes.

I am sure he rents or owns a place here in season though.  I think Dana had the baby in N.J. to be near her family though.

Oops.  Mod 2 reminded me, they just did buy Birks old place a few weeks ago.

my bad.

Serious congrats in order to the Flacco family, I made a stupid remark that some people probably saw in the game thread, but in all honesty it's gotta be such a blessing to bring a child into the world and I'm very happy for the Flacco family as a result

I love that he told some teammates that he was going to tell Harbs that he did not feel right about no being there for Dana and that he was leaving to drive back to New Jersey. Harbs admitted in the press conference after the game that if Joe would have done it, he would have fell for it hook, line, and sinker. Funny stuff.

Congratulations to Joe and Dana on the birth of their new son and thanks to Joe for playing such a good game even though he had a lot on his mind.

And I appreciate the fact that it seems John would have let him go.  Perhaps not willingly or enthusiastically....

I got that impression too. There are plenty of Week 2 games. You only get to see your kid being born once. I'm not saying I agree or disagree with his decision to play today, but I'm glad that he's with Dana and baby Daniel tonight. :)

He saw the first one, that's good enough.  He didn't get $120 million to sit on his butt while his teammates are out there on the field.

Well that's a pretty short-sighted and selfish way to think of it.  I'm glad he was there today to win this ball game, but I can't say I wouldn't understand it if he wanted to be there for the birth of his child either.  Each child is unique, you can't just treat the second one like "Been there done that".

Dana is a stronger woman then I am. I am fully impressed with her decision to be able to do this without him. I'm sure she had family by her side, but still. We had 3 boys and I needed him there all 3 times. She is a strong woman and she has my respect. I am so happy for the both of them and hope they enjoy some family time this week.

Congratulations to Joe & Dana. Welcome to the world Daniel!

Thanks for being a team player Dana. We do appreciate it, even though we also would have understood if Joe missed the game. :)
