2013 Fantasy Rant Thread

36 posts in this topic

Since I'm sure a few of us already have some ranting to do, especially after last weeks games.  Talk about a player that didn't quite go your way, or about going up against that GM from hell that despite a good performance on your end, you had no chance, among other topics.

So to start it off, in one league I did fine, in my other league, I got creamed despite putting up decent numbers.  I admit, I got hurt by starting the Ravens defense, and I should have thrown Jared Cook in my flex spot instead of Benjarvus Green-Ellis.  However, that would have in no way given me any chance for a win.

My opponent had Reggie Bush, Adrian Peterson, Demariyus Thomas, and AJ Green as his starters.  Those guys alone blew my team out of the water last week. The final score between us, 182 - 90.  My opponent could have left his remaining positions blank and he still would have kicked my ass.  :gaah:

Worst part is I have to face this guy again, but not until week 14 so who knows if any of them will still be playing.

I lost 163 to 130.

His big numbers were Brandon Marshall and Demaryius Thomas.

I really needed Morris to perform well and get 20+ points, no such luck.

Also, I started Redman in my flex spot. Only got 3 points.

AH! I knew I couldn't count in a STEELER!

Not much ranting from my, despite going against P. Manning in 2 out of 4 leagues this week... However I thought this deserved a mention:

In one of my leagues one game (not mine) was decided by 0.02 points. That's just ridicilous (the guy that lost is'nt all to happy about it ;) )

Was leading by 35 points before last nights game. Vernon Davis got hurt for me. Guy had Lynch who went off and scored 35. I had Tucker who missed 2 field goals which would've won me the game. Also started Eldeman over Hilton at the last second which lost me the game.

Its funny how things swing so quick.

Last week 4-0 in BR leagues.  This week 1-3 (The 1 win by 1 point).

I recently began a new job and forgot about my fantasy team, draft, setting my roster.

I still managed to win 79 to 73 lol

I'm thinking perhaps I should let it be.

I was the exact opposite. Last week I went 1-3 this week I went 4-0.

CJ Spiller is probably the biggest fantasy let down so far this year. ADP in the top 5 and he had 1 decent game (11pts) and is getting his carries vultured by Fred Jackson. Its a nightmare situation Im trading CJ Spiller in every league I have him in.

I really wish he would have rested to start the season instead of continuing his consecutive game streak.

His ineffectiveness really hindered not just fantasy players, but his team in general.  Falcons really screwed the pooch on many levels this year.

Rodgers,Martin,Foster. ....3 out of the 4 keepers I had are most likely done for the year. Martin and Foster for sure. Also kept Rg3 and there's no telling when he'll go down....

And it's in my money league.....Where I have a 2-5 record. -_-

Just extremely unlucky in 2 games so my record could easily be 4-3. Luck just wasn't on my side. I want to throw the towel in so bad but I won't. I made the championship one year where my record was 2-5. Injuries have just killed me to a point of no return.

His big scorers were Stafford, Antonio Brown, LeSean McCoy, and Ray Rice who gave him 101 points combined.

PPR but otherwise yes along with the bonuses Yahoo gives. Brown was the highest because of it

I'm doing so bad in every league I'm in. 2 losses this week to 2 teams that haven't set their rosters in months.

Then in my money league I lose everybody and am all of a sudden "Mush" from the Bronx tale.

One thing went right for this week. The two teams in that league fighting for that last playoff spot lost, so I don't lose any ground of them at least. It would've been nice winning since, you know, I'm going to finish 2nd highest score this week. -_-

The 2nd highest scoring team in the league. The most points scored against by a country mile. 4-6 record, clawing for the last Playoff seed.

Yeah, both of my fantasy teams are underachieving too.

Good thing I picked up Bobby Rainey and Rashard Jennings to replace my busts Lamar Miller and Trent Richardson.

Sorry to hear that. Tough luck on the two players. If it makes you feel any better, I selected CJ Spiller in the first round of both of my leagues. The only difference among my leagues is that I'm 8-3 in the other one. Then again, in the 4-6 league, the Commissioner did change the scoring system after the Draft, and I prioritized by selections by the original scoring rules. Great pick ups on your end. I just picked up Jennings as well.

I was in 8th place Week 7 in one of my leagues.  Now, I'm in 3rd and will likely end up in 2nd in the next week or two!!  :banana1:

You may have misunderstood the point of this thread. It was made specifically to explain and complain about negative situations regarding the world of Fantasy sports, i.e. losing by a fraction of a point, or having a key player land on IR for the season. Just giving you a heads up.

The book definition for the word rant is, "to speak or declaim extravagantly or violently; talk in a wild or vehement way," and the examples that follow are almost exclusively negative. It could be square pegged into a positive setting, but it would seemingly be a misuse of the terms intention. The context is furthered by the original post:

"Since I'm sure a few of us already have some ranting to do, especially after last weeks games. Talk about a player that didn't quite go your way, or about going up against that GM from hell that despite a good performance on your end, you had no chance, among other topics."

Furthermore, a rant revolves around an issue. A positive occurrence with which one is happy about does not constitute as such. With that in mind, unless stated otherwise, this thread should be reserved for its intended use of posting about misfortunes in the land of Fantasy sports.
