First Play Of The Regular Season?

21 posts in this topic

I was thinking of this, and I was wondering what you all think the first play of the season will be.

I have my mind set of opening up things with running McGahee to the outside for 6-15 yards. (We all want a touchdown, but it aint gonna happen!) :D;)

So? Any predictions?

ummmmm i think that the first play of the game will be (besides Kickoff) a single back formation, starting on our own 25 yard line and a hand-off to McGahee for a run up the middle, making 1 guy miss, and running for a gain of 8-10 yards

First play will be a touch back on the kickoff return. 2nd play will be single back and 3 wide with Magahee breaking an 80 yard run. 3rd play a PAT 4th play a kickoff 5th play Ed reed takes an INT to the house.

First Offensive play. :P

Did it have to be an offensive play or just not a kick off?

if it is a defensive play, suggs will battle through 3 blockers then palmer will get scared and toss it straight to reed, who will take it 21 yards, then lateral to suggs who will take it 19 yards for the score.

Would'nt it be great to see McNair fire a bomb to Clayton or Mason for like a 50 yard completion on the first play?

Giving all of the preseason hype that McGahee will generate the Bengals D is still focused more on our rushing attack then our passing.

the Ravens will open up in a 3WR 1TE set. Before snap Heap will shift to the left side of the formation and DWill will motion far right. Giving the Ravens a trips left single right. The trips left forces the defense to bring the safety down and cover Heap, leaving a single man deep. At the snap of the ball McNair turns his back to the defense and shows the ball, as if he is gonna hand off to McGahee. Mason runs a 10 yard dig route. Clayton runs a 12-15 yard crossing pattern, Heap runs a skinny post down the middle of the field. On the other side DWill running a corner route.

Both Heap and Dwill get off the LOS clean and sell their routes hard to the deep safety, forcing him to commit to either heaps route down the middle or give help to the far side of the field. Because Heap is viewed as a much more dangerous weapon the saftey bits on Heaps's route and DWill gets behind the coverage.

As McNair fakes the handoff to McGahee and sets up in the pocket he sees Clayton coming free across the middle as both linebackers get sucked in by the fake handoff. Before releasing the ball McNair sees DWill get behind the coverage and quickly regroups to connect with Williams on a 43 yard strike to open the game.

So basiclly the Bengals D comes out all fired up for the big Monday night home opener and they are over agressive and it cost them.

Well we all see that you have put some thought into it. I think if that were to happen, I'd **** myself. (sorry)

Well i figured why just give u the outcome of the play, when i can give u the full development of the play. If u want i can add in some Oline play let u know what the big uglies will be doing on the play. :D

I can actually see that happening but this what I think will happen.

It will a 3WR, 1TE set, and then McNair will drop back only for McGahee to take the draw. The LBs will get cleared out, the secondary will get blocked by the receivers and Heap and McGahee will take it 70 yards for the TD.

It think they'll come out with 2 TEs + 2WRs and mcnair will dump it to mcgahee, who gets the 1st down.

But I have a feeling someone will get injured in that play. possibly mike flynn.

I think we come out 3 wide with Heap and McGahee. The Bengals come out overconfident thinking they're gonna shut us down again. Clayton pulls a double move and Cincinnati's corner jumps, leaving Clayton wide open for an 80 yard touchdown.

Then we come out on defense and Palmer throws a pass to whoever replaces that criminal Henry as their 3rd WR which is picked off by Landry who takes it back for a touchdown and a 14-0 lead.

We end up winning 31-14 (McGahee runs for 150 yards and 2 TDs; Rudi Johnson and Chad Johnson score Cincy's TDs).

I think Billick will surpirse us and start off the season with a screen pass to McGahee for a gain of 20.
