WR Chad Johnson wants to play for us

103 posts in this topic

If I wasn't on mobile, this would be a full facepalm picture topic. Johnson is a bigger washed up has been than Clark and Stokley combined. On top of that he's a locker room cancer. Horrible idea.

I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

I disagree with your locker room cancer statement. I don't want Johnson as much as the next guy, but aside from the one domestic issue, the guy has NEVER gotten in trouble. Sure he's had his fun with his over the top touchdown dances, but that's like saying Ray doesn't go over the top with his squirrel dance. Johnson was never TO, his teammates loved him.

I got your back.

Just because a player takes to twitter (which is probably the worst idea) doesn't give the notion any merit.

If we go 0-16 we're taking an LT.

If we're not winning the Super Bowl anyway, I'll take 7-9 and an impact player.

Agreed.

Surely, you cannot be serious?

You can't be serious....... That's not less damaging a season like that would cause even more of an overhaul in the next year....

Would be great potentially 2 1st rounders for 3 years

im taking a year off colege football. who the cant miss prospect at WR?

The best WR prospect is Clemson's Sammy Watkins. A more realistic target for us is Jordan Matthews from Vandy.

I don't think we're going 0-16.  I think we win at least 8.  I was just saying were it to happen in some disastrous  scenario our top priority would be O-line.

Jordan Matthews would be such a sweet grab.  Or the TE from Washington.  This years draft is loaded with pass catching talent.  Which is a big reason why I think Ozzie didn't reach for a thin group in this years draft.

I agree, but I see him as a target that is very similar to Torrey Smith. Not sure we need a similar type opposite of Torrey.

People act like we don't have a strong locker room. Pats ain't have issue with chad....at times I forgot he was on the team. And we don't run a very complicated offense so he'd be worth a shot in my opinion for a one yr contract.

I don't remember Johnson being a team cancer. He was just a celebration guy during the celebration hey-day with joe horn, TO, and Moss. I kinda miss those days....

I am not. TO was an other-worldly HOF receiver for a reason. - despite his hands, numerous teams, numerous QB's, and antics. Now that is quite an accomplishment. If he had shut up, he would have a couple of rings right now.

Guess you never heard the saying, "A bird in the hand is better than two in a bush"?

We need to address the CB and safety areas depth. But how about this, we give San Fran their 6th back and our 6th and bring back Anquan.

Locker room is not the issue with Chad.  He's 35, will be 36 in January, and his last even decent season was 3 years ago with T.O. across from him.  He hasn't cracked 1100 yards in 6 years despite playing on pass-happy teams.  I don't want him for the same reason I wouldn't want T.O. or Randy Moss - I just don't believe the skill set is there anymore now that these guys are on the wrong side of 35.

What do we do about the 7.5 mil cap hit?  Or did we turn off salary cap in Madden this morning...

I'm not sure about Chad Johnson but Chris Johnson makes more sense

Still expecting this at some point.  Saw a report yesterday that said we're still talking to him.

It's too bad he's not the Chad of 5 years anymore. He's an unemployed WR that's been out of the NFL going on 2 seasons .. Pretty sure he wants to play for anyone, lol. I will say this though, he's not a cancer like many think, generally a positive guy.
