Ravens West...the problems we have need time to repair and we have another 15 games to play so let up will ya. Doom and gloom after 1 game is just plain silly. Of course they could always hire you as coach and all the problems would disappear lol.

The first two lines of your post take the same position as mine (hence, all the "Week One" and "after one week" references), which makes your last line ridiculous.

At least do us the courtesy of reading our posts before taking shots, so you don't look "silly"...lol.

Funny, because Jordy Nelson and Jermichael Finley do have super bowl rings... moron.

Funny, I took a gamble on those two not knowing nor caring due to the fact that at minimum 5 out of 7 that you listed have no rings. My point overrides your non point. Oh yeah, the name calling, way to go for truly exposing your character. lol

Our FO is undeniably one of the best in football but they are not always the gurus they are made out to be (just like Belichick isn't either). Our FO does make mistakes. Boldin was an "X" factor all last regular season and during the playoffs and his play yesterday for the 49ers confirmed why he was worth the $6M a year he was due. Perhaps the Ravens could not afford him this year and that 's understandable, but it seems we have an awful lot of D linemen but a big shortage of running backs and athletic and experienced wide outs and TEs.

//deleted paragraphs here//

That said, it is only one game and I think the Ravens will get better as the season moves on so all is not lost. I just hope Ozzy has some of those guru moves left because st this moment we have some serious deficiencies on the team.

I love the way you described our FO without any silly hyperbole about "greatest" and "best"! Makes one happy to read a long post you may otherwise ignore had you started out with the over-statement!

That said, I agree with your points but especially the first paragraph! Referring to Bouldin as an "X Factor" while in Baltimore is very accurate, but his play yesterday in SF clearly illustrates how badly Cam Cameron mismanaged our offense if not for 5 years, then at least during Bouldin's tenure here!

Your other point about the $6M also illustrates that there was more to that trade than just the money if for no other indicators than how rapidly it was done! Bernard Pollard and Vonta Leach, players with arguably less to offer than Q were allowed to languish for weeks and months before release which convinces me that there were unpublished reasons Harbs needed Q gone and that, to me, also points to Cam and the manner of his firing!

Finally, and most importantly,... you are so correct that we are very light on "skill" player depth and that is haunting us already, two games into the campaign!

Our 2013 Baltimore Ravens have a long way to go, and it's my belief that they will "right themselves" and be a force in the AFC-North! Yet, this great team on paper may, when all is said and done in January, just may end up a "paper lion"!

Funny, you had your facts wrong saying that "every receiver I named had no ring". Now you are trying to justify it by saying you took a gamble, and you don't care about any of them.

Way to go on exposing your lack of knowledge for the game of football and the players that make it what it is.

Who's got it better than Q?

No-o-o-body! :lol3:

If you or anybody else has a problem with anyone here admiring a players' work other than a Raven, then that's a problem for you!

There shouldn't be a problem with admiring another player. I for one am completely enamored with Peyton Manning, that's fine and I am allowed to be. However, some people should think about what they are posting and I wouldn't go around saying how great manning is after he smashed us.

I get what you're saying I think! But, if you think it's gloating to paraphrase the Harbs' family motto then you're wrong! We didn't play Q's Niners! But we're all supposed to be grown too, correct? But who had it better? No-o-obody!

Did Manning play a superb game against us? Did he put up an NFL best against our defense? Did we allow a franchise worst on defense? It is what it is! Just football!

So, I wouldn't fault anyone who said who's got it better than Peyton! :banana1: He darn sure got the better of us (again)!!!

anyone want to blame for Boldins early dismissal, blame Cam, i have said for 2 years he under used him, and only Flacco went to him on his own when we needed big plays...Boldin always had this game, but it was never exposed in Cam's offense.....

LOL Really, coverage dictates who gets the ball... NOT THE OC, some i think post for the sake of posting because some clearly know nothing about football.

You got my point. I have no issue with using The Harb family mantra. I feel as though some fans, who may or may not be right, are trying to rub it in about Boldin. There are other issues than him not being on our team and we should focus on things that could be changed.

I can see that too! There's fans here who launch a neg merely for mentioning Boldin and the trade! I believe that his trade was the last act of Cam's untimely departure,...

Maybe Pollard's was the last but the Boldin trade will go down in Ravens lore with not seeing what one James Harrison was about before allowing the squealers to snatch him from our Practice Squad, The Bobby Rainey thing this year and the QB deby as orchestrated by Brian Billick!

Like another guy here said, we've got a tremendous FO, not the best, but ours' is prone to mistakes too!

A lot of people have become used to winning, and everything the FO does is magic. Some fans haven't been around more than 5 years. I been around through some tough times. We make mistakes just like all other 31 teams. If no one missed then maybe some teams would have three-peated SB's.

Funny, your lack of character speaks volumes which is the true subject on display. But hey, you can thank your parents for that one.

Justification, no, not hardly, I speak the truth which is something I'm sure you're not accustom to. I could be wrong though, maybe you're low man on the totem pole when it comes to the quality of friends that you keep. As far as exposing my "lack of knowledge for the game of football blah, blah, blah..." that's pretty freaking hilarious. lol As if that places you on some moral high-ground. Again, hilarious. I'm sure I've forgotten more than you'll ever know but if that's what you want to hang your hat on, knowledge of some people you don't know, go for it.

Run along now.

No snivelling over here because "Q" is gone! My team was in that game and had some bad breaks but my confidence level is still thru the ROOF! The Ravens will win the division AGAIN and will be waiting on mr manning for a little payback!

Seeing a picture of a Steelers player making a catch on the Ravens website just gave me chills and made me lose my appetite. If we end up going 2-16 , those 2 wins better be against the Steelers.

THe fact that the rest of the division sucked.... is not much of a consolation prize for us sucking!

Yeah...but, it sure does ease the pain (just a little)...for this week.

Wouldn't everyone technically be tied for 2nd behind the Bengals since they lost against an NFC team?

Yes, you're right.  But, it's week one!  Tie-Breakers don't have the same effect as in week 12.  We have 16 weeks of season ahead with two face-to-face meetings with the Bengals - ample time to take care of our own business, and put "technically" in our column...And Cincy just made it a heck of a lot easier.

Seeing Boldin play yesterday was tough. What are the chances of Boldin coming back to Baltimore next year

I would think none, ask yourself this tho. Quan was here what four season and NEVER had games like that..

Umm...second half, 21 pt. defecit comeback win against the Cardinals in Baltimore immediately comes to mind...then, there was the post-season of 2012...or, anytime he had four or more touches last year.

Channeling my inner-Denny Green:  He is who we thought he was!  Why the surprise?

It has nothing to do with what happens in SF, it's what we needed to do here, now and in the long-term.

Oh yeah! I remember the Testaverde, Bam Morris days when the defense couldn't make a lead stick in the 4th quarter for 3 years from 1997-99! Ray Lewis used to get in fights with the Offense a few times per year during Training Camp!

Yes, these new Ravens fans are definitely spoiled!

i have been saying since the offseason that suggs or ngata will be released to clear cap room and  i agree that it is the reality of the cap.  no team can keep all of there best players every season and it is a game of chess for the front office

Unless I'm mistaken, Suggs make less next year than this year. Ngata's is the one that jumps $4.5 mil.... http://www.sportscity.com/nfl/salaries/baltimore-ravens-salaries/ I don't know if this is "against the cap" numbers or just annual salary numbers. But Joe's # looks like a cap number....
