The chant is OURS!!!! & we must stand against any other team that trys to use it. People talk so bad about The Ravens but they keep trying to be like us.I got into it with some Miami Heat fans for singing our Chant!!! Dont let them take it from use!!!

Well folks, the Seven Nation Army chant that Chris Carr encouraged us to start a few years ago has officially been adopted by every other team known to man.  What do you say we try to bring something new and creative to our gameday experiences at The Bank?  I've always thought it would sound intimidating to have 70,000 people making "CAWWW" noises.  Imagine the sound of that angry flock of birds.

What chants would you like to see used at The Bank?

It never was ours. Ohio State used it way before us. The song is like 10 years old, it's been over played at every event. I just like it because it makes the stupi..um...the less informed fans know to make some noise when defense is out there on 3rd down. I rather have that then the "fans" behind me saying "ugh, we got a stander"

Someone needs to write Jack White a letter to tell him we need something new.

He is too busy having an uncomfortably weird relationship with his sister...

Seven Nation Army is definitely not ours.  Its been in stadiums long before us.  Euro Soccer and College football embraced it way before we did.   Its very catchy and easy to do.  That's the two elements you need. The Ravens fight song is neither catchy or easy to do or sing.  The "Fight" and "Baltimore" parts of it are what people are suppose to get into, but barely does it get noticed.

here is a good article on the song and where it started. http://deadspin.com/5875933/how-the-song-seven-nation-army-conquered-the-sports-world

This is a song written by the Baltimore Band The Ravyns called I'm a Rav'n Maniac, hence my screen name.

We use it for our enjoyment, other fanbases use it for their enjoyment. No need to get angry about something that's supposed to bring people together. Enough with this ownership garbage.

Since we are on this subject, if I may.

The " Manure Chant " when the original happened, it was unquestionably epic.  It was also unquestionably WELL deserved.

It fit the moment.  I was there.

That said, I have seen other times fans have tried to "recreate" that moment.  Every one has been far less deserving.

What I am saying Baltimore, is this, let it go.  Show some class.

It was classic. It actually made me feel better about the manure penalty. It is also what I am known for yelling all the time when I get riled up, so it was special to me. It will be hard to recreate, but at least I can hear it on youtube when I get nostalgic.

BTW, no NFL fans rock the Seven Nation Army chant like we do. Keep it alive, Ravens Nation like it and do it well.

You guys are acting as though Baltimore Ravens fans started the "bulls#it" chant. That's been happening at WWE events for years and years.

70,000 fans singing Purple Haze by Hendrix, doing the wave and tossing purple confetti will do. Alternatively, 70K fans calling audibles would help. There are still too many quiet fans at M&T Bank Stadium but its far better than the Fed Ex fans. We have a way to go in order to catch the Seattle fans at 136+ decibels.

I just saw them doing it in tonights game vs the bengals. We were the first professional sports team to use it and it has been a part of our tradition for a few years. It's our thing just like chanting incomplete is denvers thing and renegade is pittsburghs thing.Someone needs to let every other NFL  team know that they're stealing from us if they use that.

It's not our chant. It's been used in college football and professional soccer before we adopted it. The song or chant doesn't belong to us

I heard it clearly on TV when we played the Dolphins in Miami earlier this year.  I just assumed it was a lot of Ravens fans, which there were anyway, lol.

We didn't originate this chant. When will everyone understand this? We "stole" it. (Although we do it best ;) )

I'm certain we used it before the Dolphins but first professional sports team? No way: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seven_Nation_Army#Sporting_events. Not a big deal in any case.

If you want to be super specific about it,yeah,we all know soccer teams in england and college teams used it before us.However we're the first professional team in the states to adopt it.In the world of NFL traditions it now belongs to us.

Be flattered. It wasn't the fans that originated it anyway, IIRC. It was Chris Carr, I believe, who pitched the idea to John Harbaugh after being inspired by the Italian soccer team that won the World Cup. It's not a big deal.

I wish it would just go away.

Yep... Overplayed now

Even though we still kill that chant

I'd be more concerned, if they start using the Colts fight song after every TD. You know, something that is an actual Baltimore football tradition.

Yea I'm over it....we kinda stole it...so we can't be mad if another fan base steals it. Though we had a great run with that chant. I've noticed the Miami heat started using it a lot late last year and even heard it clearly tuesday night at their home opener..might be where the Dolphins fans got it from.

I always thought each team could do something more specific to their team name or state anyway..for instance we're ravens so what if at random points in the game, everyone start caw'ing or everyone start flapping their arms are something distinctive lol

Imagine 50k+ fans caw'ing and flapping arms while on defense giving M&Tbank the nickname "The Raven's Nest"
