[News] Eisenberg: Harbs Going To Earn That Salary

91 posts in this topic

Flacco will get it there but the receivers have to catch it. Time is really not on our side especially if Bengals and Steelers win this weekend. It is not doom and gloom but the schedule does not bode well. If Oher and Jones can not play well what next? Go Ravens.

Nothing wrong with Flacco or the receivers. The problem is the TE's not catching the ball and the running backs can't run. Something's wrong with the O line because they are not creating lanes? We will see next week. Browns are not as bad as people think. The way we are playing now, this will not be a cake walk. Could be a long year! Still not over the disappointment of Thursday! More how we lost than losing. We were pathetic and down right embarrassed. Will be watching the games today to see if any one loses as badly as we did.

I have never been a fair weathered fan especially when it comes to the Ravens, but I can't bare to watch our team this year. I am extremely upset that the coaching staff created these players who appear to be lack luster at best. They cut very god players to retain the roster they have now. chiefly Ed Dickson who in my opinion has always been a garbage player. He has no hands what so ever. Dallas Clark was available for a reason, and it's upsetting that we could only muster up his services as oppose to a more quality player. Brandon Stokely has great hands, but he's aging and it appears it's difficult for him to create separation from young more faster defensive players covering him. The rookie who ran into Jacoby Jones should be cut immediately. Youth, inexperience, and first game jitters is no excuse for running into his own player on a punt return. Are you kidding me? Our Defensive Secondary appears to be set to become the laughing stock of the entire league. These guys get paid to play football, and for the last few months that's all they have done is prepare to play. I am not convinced that Peyton Manning is as great has our team allowed him to be. On one TD Welker literally walked into the in zone with DBs standing still with their hands on their hips watching. I would like to think that the offense' ineptness created fatigued coupled with the altitude created this horrible and embarrassing debacle, but the team was supposed to have gotten younger and faster. There can be no excuse for this level of playing. I believe that the talent is not there, and if this level of play is going to be indicative of our season, I don't have confidence that the Ravens will win any games at all this year. We will see in the home opener what they can do against the Browns. A lost in that game will be a defining moment in our season. I just can't bare to watch this team which appears to have no heart, no chemistry, and no fire which has been the signature of our organization. #tryinghardnottobeafairweatheredfan

Which coach would you pay $7m dollars to:

a) A guy who sets the example for the team by being a fat-arsed junk-food junkie whose idea of leadership is making every second word start with F

b) A guy who wants his glory days back so bad he throws his QB out there when the QB has half-an-LCL holding his knee together (and no realistic chance of winning four games straight)

c) A guy who chases opposition coaches across the field because they didn't quite get the right type of handshake they wanted after the game

d) a guy who used to play third-string QB for the team and therefore knows how to bow to the wishes of the guy who is Owner-GM-MDFO-HeadScout-Spokesperson-Mascott-Dictator

e) A guy who gets you to the playoffs five times in his first five years and gets you a ring

It's four days since Jones and Oher got hurt. Why don't we know what's going on with them? I hate to lose to cocky-a.. Elway....Peyton is the greatest but he plays on Elway's team. Lastly, the fact that we didn't challenge on Welker's non-catch is on the coaching staff. How many mistakes have Harbaugh's guys made over the last 5 years and we never hear about them? It cost us a touchdown. Maybe wouldn't have made a difference but not acceptable.....again.

Totally unrelated to any article I've seen posted, but I recall back when we boot stomped the Steelers in game 1 and started to pour it on a bit, that media types (Bill "Hair Lip" Cower and even on Mike and Mike) how it was basically classless how we racked up points in an attempt to humiliate our opponent and that we would pay for that later when these teams faced again.

Yet here - where the game was clearly in hand, the Broncos were wanting to pour it on ... just to get Manning a record and to humiliate the team they lost so painfully in the previous meeting. Not a peep about them being classless for showing us up in the media.

Don't get me wrong - I have absolutely no problem with what the Broncos did to us. This is the pros folks. Big boys. You gotta problem with what the other team is doing, then do something to stop it. If you can't ... well, that's your problem.

However, I just don't get that when we do it, it is a sign of a lack of class. When the Broncos do it, it is a thing of beauty.

... and then you go on a tirade that drives home the obvious point, that you are a fair weather fan!

I found it interesting that in the first line I quoted above, you did a good job of stating the WR who shall not be named, without actually naming him. Then you blasted Stokely with the exact definition that is used to describe the player you did not name.

The worse opening loss of any Superbowl team in the history of the game. That speaks volumes.........Wrong kind of history to be making and allowing Peyton to throw 7 TD's, something that hasn't been done in 50 years! Crazy........

It would have been much easier to coach this team if they figured out a way to let Boldin play the final year of his contract. This will be haunting them all season long.

It's my opinion. Isn't your comments exactly the same for you?

That's not accurate. If you do your research I believe the San Fransico 49ers beat the Super Bowl Champion Chicago Bears 44-0 on the first Monday night after the Bears won. I can't remember the year!

If you state that you are not a fair weather fan, then that becomes a debatable point. PERSONAL attacks are not permitted.

Very good article, John. I believe we lost by more points last year @ Houston, then this year's Denver debacle. And that's just what it was, according to Dictionary dot com:
debacle [dey-bah-kuhl, -bak-uhl, duh-]
noun
1.
a general breakup or dispersion; sudden downfall or rout: The revolution ended in a debacle.
2.
a complete collapse or failure.

We've got a lot to fix, but remember, we do have great coaches and our players will be eager to learn and adjust. Remember this has happened before, just last year, so let's try to be positive and welcome our team home to face The Browns. We will make all kinds of adjustments before the 15th gets here, so like Eisenberg was saying (conveying), 'Keep The Faith!'

In spite of what we saw in the second half of this game. We will not get beat by the same margin again this year. The first half proved something to me. That's what we build on the first half. Forget the second half. These guys have pride also let's not forget that.

Not a Harbaugh fan, another coaching issue on Welker's catch. They did win the SB and I suppose he was on the front line last year when they changed Offensive coordinator. We'll see if he can motivate this team again.

let's face it. Harbaugh is a very average coach that has a big ego. there are a lot worse coaches out there, so i'm not saying he's horrible by any means. but let's look honestly at how we won the super bowl last year. we fired Cam Cameron, which actually took the owner to put his foot down to get this done. Harbaugh did not want this, but the fans and pretty much anybody could tell this needed to be done years ago. also, Oher being moved to right tackle completely changed the O-line, another thing that any idiot could have said needed to be done much earlier, but his ego clouded his judgement. another, major upgrade was at kicker. a huge reason we weren't in the previous super bowl was because Harbs stuck with his guy Cundiff way too long, in fact Shayne Graham should have kept his job when he came in the relieve Cundiff at the end of the 2011 season. also, Stover really should have never been let go to begin with, but I'll leave that be. now we are pretty much stuck with garbage at receiver because Harbaugh chose to trade Boldin when no one in their right mind would trade off Boldin for the garbage we picked up, Huff, Clark, Stokley, etc. so yes, Harbaugh was the coach of the Super Bowl Champs, but just think about the changes that were made to make that run and for how long we as fans were told they shouldn't be made. then when he finally is forced to fire his buddy Cam we win it all. so congrats Harbs on the new contract, but remember the players win the games. it's your job to put the best players out there and put them in the best position to win. it's not your job to fill your roster with a bunch of yes men that are too afraid of you to speak their mind.

I'm gonna stick up for Smith....I thought he played pretty decent up till he gave up that TD to Caldwell. To me, I thought Graham played worse than Smith. People are just easy to pick out Smith. I also thought that the interior D-Line didn't play very well. We stopped the run, but they didn't get much pressure. Ngata didn't get much pressure, and he was going against a back up center. We need to get more pressure to help out our secondary.

Not much pressure? They had 3 sacks and both Canty and Ngata hit Manning numerous times. the 4th quarter they didn't do anything but they were all gassed.

i agree i thought smith outplayed graham and webb but after those turnovers the defense just looked gassed and remember we have 5 new starters and 2 others rotating in and out that need to learn the system.  patience patience patience!! they will get better

Hmmm what game were you watching if you thing Smith out played Webb? Did you read the article? Manning tested Webb twice early in the game and got nowhere and moved on to other DB's like Smith, Huff and Graham. Grahama got beat for 1 TD against Welker every other TD was either Smith or Huff's fault.  Besides Julius Thomas first TD that was Bynes and Huff together who screwed that 1 up. Jimmy Smith has been a Ravens entirely too long to suck as badly as he sucked the other night.
