[News] Eisenberg: Harbs Going To Earn That Salary

91 posts in this topic

To all the Know It Alls Who take persons Words out of "CONTEXT". KEY WORD CONTEXT! LEARN IT WELL. What I said holds a lot of Water and is Very Truthful. NO, I wouldnt fire Harbs after just one 8 and 8 missed playoff season. But here is Where Some of You Lost CONTEXT. Harbs got what he wanted after the SB, making him and only him responsible, that is He remade this team in his Image and Agenda for better and some Cases Worse(caugh caugh Pollard, Boldin, Reed) because some veteran personalities were strong and conflicted with him. So if they Miss they Playoffs because this Dudes Ego got in the way instead of having back a Pollard or Reed or Boldin, someone whos veteran Voice was as loud as his in that locker room and brings LEADERSHIP,and a Difference MAKER ON THE FIELD. His only Legit Excuse is a Serious Longterm injury to the 2 main people on the team and we know who they are on offense. Otherwise then yeah Goodbye. <br />

I hear you Sami, but you are a bit naive. In the real world coaches like Harbaugh are let go of all the time when their team doens't perform. Sometimes it takes several years of nose diving or sometimes after only a year (or less). Look what happened up in Philadelphia. And after it all just fell apart all the kings men and all the kings horses...
I agree it's only one game and there won't be any changes today or anytime soon, but sometimes even good coaches are let go of just to clean the slate and start over. I don't wish it on any coach let alone John Harbaugh but if this team has issues with progress then yes there will be more calling for change. This owner doesn't suffer without reacting. Ask Brian Billick. Sometimes coaches lose their way or just get stale or whatever. Then there's nothing else to do but to go fresh. Time will tell. Not you or me.

It is just my opinion, but when you lock in on your favorite player,Joe Flacco, it leaves little room to notice chemistry with someone else. Prime example....You and Ed Dickson were ok before Pitta came to Baltimore. Dickson got hurt, Pitta came in....Ray Rice, Pitta, Torrey and Anquan were your targets..Dickson was no longer in your mix. Not blaming or making excuses for a poorly played game after lack of coaches challenge. Ravens will be alright, fans, it is just the 1st game!

Hey Greek, I don't know what you been smokin but I can remember when Bmore had 4 pro teams at one time and none of them were the Ravens. And we lost 3 of them. So your synopsis is a bit off.

I think Harbaugh will retire here (aka, he won't get fired). I don't know why people are even coming to that potential conclusion. The man can coach.

Did anybody see Suggs, Canty, and Dumervil all get a sack in that game! That was one thing that we can be happy about.

It looks like the sack machine is rolling!!! Chooo Choo!

We drafted both Pitta and Dickson in the same draft a couple years ago.

If anything, Flacco is to committed to spreading the ball around, we all saw him keep going to Clark, and Dickson after all the drops, but the chemistry that has been working, and which is key now, is his trust in Brown, he, and i believe Mellete will be X-factors to another playoff team....

Anyone know the status of Ohers injury?

Saw on Twitter that it's a minor sprain. He'll probably be ready for week 2.

This team will be great, possibly better than last year's team. There is turmoil every year, it came a little early this year. Some of our key guys have rust, it'll wear off and we don't have to play every game at a mile high altitude.

As someone mentioned, Pitta and Dickson came at the same time, I have no idea what that comment was about. Joe does a great job of spreading the ball around. The best way to get the ball thrown to you is to get open!

i agree i thought smith outplayed graham and webb but after those turnovers the defense just looked gassed and remember we have 5 new starters and 2 others rotating in and out that need to learn the system.  patience patience patience!! they will get better

Ohh I have patience, I think this group will gel and turn into a very good unit. And Smith didn't play better than Webb, Webb played a solid game. Peyton didn't test him to much. But this defense will get better, especially when the new guys get in sync.

John is the best HC in the game to me, Go Coach!

I don't quite have him that high, but he is in my top five and I am glad we extended his contract.

yes he will earn his salary. He has gotten rid of Ed Reed, Pollard, Kruger, Williams and Boldin and Lewis has retired. This is his team now, his handpicked team lets see how good of a coach he is.

Harbs is an elite coach, like flacco is an Elite QB. I wouldn't say he is the best coach in the NFl, yet. This is harbs team now with the moves he made in the offseason, so we will find out great he really is. In the past 10 years the ravens were more player led and Billick was not elite, but he was a players coach...Now we are absolutely coach led.

all the players we let go seemed to be right but the one who we might regret letting go is Ed reed . We let him go for one reason and one reason only , big time Injury concern . If he stays heathy all year , key word is "if" then we made a big mistake letting him go . He's miles better then Michael huff who might be solid for us but let's be honest he was flat out terrible against Denver , no sugar coating it .

Still waiting for him to own up to the non challenge Welker catch. Lame excuse for not challenging it. Somebody wasn't doing their job. Regardless it still falls on John. If he doesn't come clean on it I will be disappointed. He won't be the guy I thought he was. Not so hard to admit the mistake and then move on. Cover ups never end well.

I learned from one game! Clark and Dickson are horrible! Smith and Huff are even worse! DC still cannot adjust! Marlon Brown is our 2nd WR right now! We can't run the ball with the best RB committee in the league! (OLine) Oher makes a HUGE difference at RT.
