WR Aaron Mellette

T. J. Ward is one of the best safeties in the NFL. And their front seven is easily talented enough to make up for any deficiencies in the secondary. Anyone expecting our offense to dominate is going to be in for a very rude surprise.

But he's a strong safety - I'm more thinking of Tashaun Gipson, who's only a second year player with 3 career starts.  Maybe it's a fault of mine but I don't really consider strong safeties when I think of pass defense.  Even Troy P. isn't known for his hands, but for the plays he makes at the LOS.  I expect our tight ends to be about as open as they were in Denver - if they hold on to the passes thrown to them, I think we will be fine.  And again, that's still leaves all the other receivers open - Haden covers Torrey, who covers Marlon Brown, Brandon Stokley, Aaron Mallette?

I'm still baffled we didn't put Juszczyk in the game.

Same. I think he could be a LB's worst nightmare. He has pretty good hands and knows how to run routes. I was saying he looked like the next Cooley.

I'm actually wondering if part of the issue was that, since Dickson had missed so much time and Clark just got here, were they just trying to force those guys on the field as much as possible to give them more time to get in synch?  JMO, because I kind of felt they were out there at times when they shouldn't have been.

That could be it too. But I just don't think Dickson plays like a Raven.

Mellette will definitely have to play this week, even if DT is healthy enough to go. I'm actually excitied to see this guy play. I thing the offense will be much better next game. I actually think both Dickson and Clark will play better and Stokely will be much more efficient. Playing at home will mean a lot imo.

I think more receptions is a great thing for Brown. The more you can get that guy on the field the better. I really think this guy is special and he'll continue to show up. The quicker he and 5 get on the same page the better.

I don't think the WR situation is a bad as it seems. Yes we'll be relying on a 7th rounder and UDFA WR but the thing is, those guys guys are talented and can really help this offense. I think if you can get Mellette and Thompson up to speed iin the slot, it'll be much better for Sttokely and the offense as a whole.

With all of that being said, I wouldn't be surprised to see Ozzie make aa trade this week.
