Week 1 Discussion (Other Games)

That was the discussion all offseason in Philly. I even saw some news shows that played clips from Andy Reid press conferences to those of Chip Kelly.  It was hilarious.

San Diego's defense allowed 24 points in the second half, so we're not the only team who fell apart against a good football team.

Although comparing ourselves to SD is probably not a good thing.

No it isn't.  It's probably better to compare ourselves to Green Bay.

It's weird how the NFL doesn't allow rushing touchdowns anymore. 16 were scored all week (compared to 63 passing TDs). There were 9 defensive TDs as well.

So,

10% of TDs were defensive

18% of TDs were rushing

72% of TDs were passing.

Teams want to throw the ball now, running backs as pure runners will only continue to lose value.  NFL RBs like Rice, Spiller, McCoy, and Sproles will become more prominent since you can get them into space through the passing game.

I love PFF, don't get me wrong, but there's no way that Carson Palmer should have a higher rating for the week than Peyton Manning.  I appreciate the fact that RGIII and even Michael Vick rated lower than Flacco, but Pryor and Smith should not be ahead of him.

Ouch,  NFL came out and admitted that the penalty called on the Chargers (roughing the center ) during the FG attempt, that instead of Houston getting a FG , gave them a first down and resulted in a touchdown was an incorrect call.

Edit * Tom Zbikowski has been suspended 4 games for violating leagues performance enhancing drugs policy , lol

He probably shouldn't have been using since they clearly weren't helping...

That was a game changer for sure. Chargers may have won if not for that call.

How is it, we are a day or so away from me making a week two thread already.... SLOW DOWN NFL! You just got here, no need to rush anything.
