Didn't notice him outside of that 60yd play he gave up to the TE. Huff made a good play at the end tipping the pass.

elam has been non existant. vaccaro and reid have been great. taking into consideration ozzie was so s high on am where he ranke him as the 16th best player in the whole draft he would have probably seleted him over vaccaro or  reid if they were all on the board..ozzie isnt perfect. as i said to everyone elam doesnt have great anticipation. that and his small stature is a no no to me. he is basicaly a mini pollard. doesnt hitquite as hard though.

ive been pretty good with my draft hunches over the years. i want elam to of course surpass my expectations. i just dont feel he has the x factor a guy his size needs.

Great is a vague description, what has made their play stand out so much to you?     First both Vaccaro and Reid started the first 2 games and played a majority of defense snaps for their teams... Elam started yesterday for us over Huff and saw increased production  similar to theirs..  Elam will make plays as he plays more, I'm not sure why we didn't start Elam from Day 1, anyway. Ihedigbo is nice ST, okay safety, Huff has been good in the past on bad teams neither resume screams Elam should take a backseat...

 

As far as Elam not having anticipation etc..  lol I'm a Miami Hurricane fan, but so I don't like Florida Gators but every time I saw the gators in a big SEC battle it seemed like Elam was making plays, Ints, FF, FR, TFL, tackles on quick screens. It has been 2 weeks of football thus far, I'm sure he will eventually make these plays for us as well...

The Draft can be a gamble yes, but I'm sure we've all had thoughts that a player would be good and they became good, or wished a certain player would have been drafted by the Ravens because they would become a difference maker immediately then another team snatches them... 

Example : I desperately wanted Dez Bryant here and the Cowgirls jumped in front of us and took him and I thought oh great now those bums gonna have a stud.... 

 

Point being we are all bound to eventually get something right .

And in my opinion he was great at Florida, the only knock on him was his size coming out of college. I really wanted the Ravens to draft him

Elam had a quiet day yesterday. A quiet day for a safety is usually a good day. We played a ton of man coverage yesterday, and Elam was used extensively in one on one coverage. To see him have a quiet day is great news.

The stats line shows Elam with 3 Tackles and 2 Assists.

 

But Reid has been a very productive player in the 2 games he's played for the Niners.  They called his injury a concussion, but it sure looked like a neck / shoulder stinger from this perspective. If the Niners would entertain a trade for their now injured safety straight up for "Cleats Elam", I think the Raven's would consider it.

I'll admit Reid and Vaccaro have been better, but to say Ozzie would have selected them over Elam is pretty asinine to be honest.  We were picking 32, they were well off the board.

he  clearly stated after the draft that he had elam ahead of any saftey in the draft so he was delighted when he fell to us. basicaly if we had the 16 th pick he would have selectedelam over vaccaro.
