I don't.  It's nice not giving someone another 15 yards because someone can't control themselves on the field.  The league is moving away from that, as illustrated by that ridiculous Bostic fine, so it's time for people to get over the big hit.

I clearly stated if we were going to get torched in the secondary we may as well knock dudes around.  Obviously I don't want guys taking 15 yarders if we can actually play coverage.

Prime example is the Bronco game, watching Huff play like an 8 year old.  I'd rather have Pollard get burned and then destroy someone as opposed to Huff getting burned and doing nothing.

If I remember correctly, Upshaw didn't see major playing time until week 2 last year against Philly..

I expect to see Elam a lot more next week.

Actually it's what they use to do to slaves to break their will.  See the letter of Willie lynch as a point of reference.

It's been done all throughout history in medieval times. It's not just for a specific group of people lol.

Well....

Matt Elam is Five Foot Eight and Three Quarter Inches. He's not Safety Size.

He's spent a good deal of his Game Time chasing plays instead of heading them off at the pass.  I didn't like this guy going in and believe we selected better further down the draft.

The Safety Issue is so dire they may throw him in. But he's not a playmaker.

We already Released the Kraken....we sent them to Houston, Tennessee and San Francisco

Explain to me why SO many analysts and fans of other teams raved(no pun intended) about the pick. By your theory, Trinidon Holliday shouldn't be in the NFL. Shark Thomas of the Steelers is too small too. Hairball is too small too. Tavon Ausitn and Desean Jackson both suck too. Darren Sproles isn't an NFL caliber player. Brandon Boykin? Forget about him. He sucks too.

Derek Mason was a bust.

(Btw, NFL.com has him in at 5'10. He's as big as Reed was)

Sorry not trying to be rude but a moderator asked me to keep it on topic.

Matt Elam will start for Huff before the season is over I promise you.

In all likelihood, Reed won't even be on the field this week.  Assuming he would be as bad as he's been the past two years, what exactly did you expect him to do in this game?  He wouldn't have been able to tackle, he showed that last year, and the play of the entire secondary was an organizational failure that no one man could have fixed on his own.  He's not that player anymore, Reed isn't even a fraction of that player anymore.  And his on again off again retirement talk, injuries, and antics should have been removed the last time he was extended.

I agree to disagree with this.

I'm sorry but that is total bull crap. You completely made up that height. Matt Elam is 5'10" which is the same size as Earl Thomas, one of the best safeties in the game. He is definitely safety size and to say otherwise is just complete nonsense. Chasing plays... Really? He's looked great in limited snaps so far, I don't know what you are watching but you should definitely take the blindfold off when you watch a game.

My bad. I probably should've looked through the thread further before responding.

And I agree with you. Elam is the future.

Poes Crows, do me a favor: be a fan of the Baltimore Ravens...nevermore!

You don't sound like a fan of the Ravens. I recognize there's a line between being a fan and a fanatic but what you're saying has escaped the realm of logic..I feel like you're posting emotional responses based off of how this awful game we played made you feel.

I'd suggest you just chill and think about some of this stuff because some of your comments are very far from the truth.

Good

Elam played well until we took him out at the end of the game and put Huff back in the game. That's also when the Broncos scored another TD to TE Thomas. Lol.

i thought elam was on during the last td. pretty sure he was.

I don't remember seeing his number out there and I don't remember anyone calling him out on it. It's certainly possible as it was late and I was tired but I'm pretty sure he was out and Huff was back in the game

Coconut, I'm the biggest Raven Fan in the history of the Ravens.

But, I'm not going to turn a blind eye to mismanagement and malfeasance.  That's not my gig.

A fish rots from the Head down.  Our management got too full of themselves and thought "they" were the difference. That's the problem and it's being revealed before our eyes.

I don't know what they were thinking, but Anquan Boldin was as big a piece of the championship as others they overpaid. I think we paid Flacco 5-6 million too much.

There's no sense getting too excited until after the Browns game. You'll be in a better position to evaluate what I've been saying since Boldin's trade after that game.

I don't think it's fair to judge the games yet. That's what I'm saying. Let's give Joe some time with these new pieces and reevaluate. Joe lost a lot of consistency. Boldin & Pitta were a tough pill together. Nobody could have foreseen that.

going to be honest here, i dont think elam is going to be anything more but at best solid. i know ou guys knock polard but i thik thats his overall potential. not going to make bro bowls but a solid starter. ozzie is having a dry patch. i admit i preffered cyprian over elam.

Cyprien had a pretty mediocre pre season and had a an OK first outing. He was still the most overhyped player in this past draft.

Cyprian was a hyped up guy... Hes wasn't close, or not at least at the collegiate level compared to Matt Elam. Maybe he'll be good in the pros.
Elam has instinct that Cyprian doesn't have IMO.
