Now, that I have proven my point...Doss would give us depth at slot WR which may be important considering Deonte's health and Stokley's age and he would provide us with a back-up PR who has experience. What is there to lose?

LOL Go back to the colts game and tell me that the balls that doss dropped weren't catchable. I was in attendance to that game and he was the most frustrating player on the field.

Just giving you the unbiased numbers. I have gone back and watched them. I think the 2nd ball in the EZ was borderline, but none of them were balls that are easy catches.

Welcome to the NFL, you aren't going to be open often and the balls aren't going to be easy catches.  If it hits you in the hands it's on you, and over the course of his career Joe has been let down my numerous guys dropping the ball.  And not just the famous ones, Clayton's in the NE game, Lee Evans, Boldin and Housh against the Steelers, I'm talking drops in general.

I can't believe I'm saying this.

But ultimately, we don't have a returner right now, and Stokley looks slow. SLOW.

Do we bring him back? He's not great either, but with Jones out, Mellette being raw, and Stokley being slower than a tortoise, he might be the best option.

Thoughts?

Completely. 100%. Absolutely AGREE!!
As of now we have 3 receivers. 2 of whom weren't on the team last year(Stokley & Brown) and Stokley looks his age, OLD!
We need another option especially after the Jacoby injury and we don't need another receiver who Joe is not familiar with.
He knows the offense and the system, he is an immediate plug-n-play at a position that we DESPERATELY NEED!

If not Doss what about Laquan Williams . Both of these guys are familiar with our offense . at this point what do we have to lose ?  Williams in my opinion has upside but I bet Doss would love a second chance either way I'm game and its never a bad idea if it works.

I'd rather have Doss over Lloyd. Better character, but I heard he's getting worked out by GB. Besides, I'd rather give Marlon and Mellette a chance. Also will be interesting to see what Deonte can bring when he gets healthy.

Times like this make you miss ED Reed. He was always up to return a punt!

That's seriously one of the funniest things I've ever seen.

You're right Gabe. Doss is the best receiver we've ever had.

Not so fast. marlon Brown is poised to overtake his career touchdown mark (1), and with a ton of good fortune and another game or so he just may equal his career total in catches.(7)

Any chance being cut ignited something inside him?

Yes. And now his hands are all sweaty and slippery from that raging fire that burns inside of him. Or in other words: He catches even LESS.

Hopefully all Doss ever needed was an in-game chance.  Second chances really don't come around often, even in the NFL - I wish you the best of luck in yours, Tandon.

Please tell he's not going in as the No. 2 or 3 receiver. Let Brown (and hopefully Mellette) get their reps in for Christ's sake.

No worries, I'm sure that is the main motivation behind the move (special teams). Brown has guaranteed himself first dibs as #2

hey atleast we have a returner not named Webb   :plus-un2:

Asa Jackson must be kicking himself right now.  He'd be the starting returner if not suspended.

LOL. Hilarious.

At least, he satisfies need for a returner.

Exactly what I'm thinking. Rather have him out there than Pierce or Webb.

I agree Doss  is a slot receiver if anything he just going sub in and out with Brandon Stokley in the slot which is great thing because Stokley needs to stay as fresh as possible
