Update: WR Tandon Doss is back

407 posts in this topic

He looked good as a returner.  I'm still not convinced he can catch the ball coming across the middle. I'll wait and see before saying he's back but he did perform well today.

Can anyone explain to me why we signed this running back?

Wouldn't be surprised if we cut him this week to get another RB if Rice misses some time or another CB.

How do you guys get so off topic so easily? Anyways, I thought Doss was amazing in the return game today. I was glad we brought him back for that. If he hadn't ran into his own man on that first punt, he might've gone even longer.

Draughn was brought in to do returns, but Doss handled them all.  Thus, the question of why we signed Draughn.

Doss is shifty. He had a good PR against Denver last year and a 16 yard screen against Houston. Then 2 PRs today. He's a guy you want to get the ball to in space.

Okay, why do you even want Doss as a punt returner? I've never really seen him get that far down the field. And that's even if he decides to run.

Did you watch today's game... because that is why we should use him as a punt returner.

Doss had a nice ST day, if he can continue to perform like this while Jacoby's out bringing him back will be more than worthwhile.

I like how phyiscal he was as a returner. We should try to get the ball in his hands as a receiver. He plays tough, smash mouth Ravens type football.

He blew his chances as receiver during preseason when he showed an inability to run the right routes or catch balls in traffic. But as a return guy yesterday, he looked good. I would keep him exclusively in that role until Jacoby is back.

The WR core actually looked solid with Smith, Brown and Stokley so I don't know why you would want to shake that up.

ravens fans.. my oh my. you were calling for his head for playing bad in the preseason and now you talk about how excellent of a returner he is and how tough he is.. sure, maybe being cut lit a fire under him and now hes got a chip on his shoulder, but the talent you saw from him yesterday, was always there, and he had a shaky at best preseason, he has the talent to find his place in the nfl, he just needs to make sure hes got the brainpower to go with it

Doss was rotating in and out with Stokley on offense so im not sure  if he has blown his chances as a receiver atleast in the coaches eyes.  Smith, Brown and Stokley definately did have a solid day yesterday but they still have to get better and if Doss or Thompson can add more flavor or explosiveness to the offense then why not allow them to see the field. Brandon Stokley is a play maker but you not going to get the play making Stokley if you over use him because he's not in his 20's any more  which means his stamina is not what it use to be .

Doss was impressive on ST today. Glad he is back.

Doss was very good. I wouldn't say impressive, but he stepped up today and was very good backup for Jacoby on ST. Im glad he is back on the team and hope he can continue to improve. He suppose to be backup slot receiver behind Stokley. So he needs to keep practicing and get better and maybe just maybe Joe will throw a ball his way.

Glad to see Tandon's getting a little love. He deserves it after his game yesterday. Looked solid on ST's.

Welcome back.

He did look solid returning kicks. In a game as close as that one was field position is everything. He definitely helped us win on Sunday. He will likely be limited to special teams barring another injury though. He doesn't seem to have the trust of Flacco in the passing game. I remember seeing him on the field for Brown's touchdown but I can't recall seeing him in on any other offensive plays.

...gotta make plays when you have the opportunity!  He took his small opportunity on Special Teams and did something with it!   That's all you can do!  Play within yourself -- seize every little opportunity -- and later it opens to larger opportunities.  Tandon if your reading -- don't despise the day of small things ...

I agree with you, but it seems like we're running out of guys that Flacco does trust.

Dickson -no. Clark - no. Doss - no.

3 targets for our TE's is a little ridiculous. On that note though, I cant remember the last time Bajema has dropped a pass. Granted he rarely gets targeted, but every ball I can remember being thrown his way he has caught it.

I say get Bajema more targets until he proves otherwise.

Oh really? Now you're glad huh...

I was never one of the ones calling for his head. Not sure what you're implying.
