well for now we need a better center we could look at free agent center Kevin Matthews to bring in for a tryout

I thought he was worse with his actual protection calls, actually made a topic on it last night, he didn't pick up a single A gap pressure and have the guards slide blocking assignments inside to pick up the heat.  Rice tried to pick up 240 pound LBs at full sprint like 3 or 4 times to no avail.

Not a lot you can do now.  His in his second year making his second start.  I wouldn't worry about it just yet.

Exactly. If he doesn't improve at all by the end of the year FO should address it. I think he will learn and improve though.

Yeah, whenever you have guys stepping up to the plate it's going to be uneven.

Hate to say it but I think Ozzie has known that this team was rebuilding since OTa's. I know it is only week 1 but I just don't think this team will be able to compete at a high level this year.We may be drafting in the top 10-15 if we don't turn things around. Poor Flacco!! He has all the skills, receivers have never been able to do there job and catch the darn ball until last year, then they go and tear all the offensife chemistry apart for Harb's brother so he can win a Super bowl!! Shame on Harbaugh for doing this to our city!!

Nah.  Ozzie doesn't rebuild, he retools.  We couldn't predict Pitta going down, that changed the complexity of things.  Then last night Jacoby goes down, Oher goes down.

We added a ton of solid pieces, the chemistry and communication just isn't there yet.

And Deonte, I thought Deonte was going to really help and then he misses all of preseason.

I guess the fans of the young guys are going to get what they wanted for the last two years. Youngs have to play now. We have no choice. I hope they shape up quick.

No physicality in the secondary,no one can catch the ball,we are in trouble.I love my Ravens just as much as the next Baltimorian but I have to call it like I see it. If your referring to the Harbs comment, think about it,if jim wins the Super Bowl this year,do you understand what that would do for there family name? Were talking Lombardi trophy too the same family in back to back years! Why wouldn't John want Jim to win?

It was a salary cap move, pure and simple.  It had nothing to do with trying to get his brother a Super Bowl win.

I respect your opinion but I have my own, when your offense is clicking you don't tear it up.In this day in age Offense is your best Defense. We could of drafted every player we drafted this year to fix the D,maybe a couple extra piecies, and kept the offense together.Let's not forget the Offense won the superbowl not the Defense

When we drafted Gino I thought it was a wasted pick as he is undersized and doesn't have enough strength to take on nose tackles . He was getting knocked off the ball consistently last night , sadly . His play just confirmed what I thought about picking him in the draft.

All I want is for us to sign Velasco and Rhodes. I feel like that would fix a lot of issues.

I'm all aboard.  Where do I sign?

Velasco is only 28 and has been a solid piece on the Titans O-Line.  Rhodes is only 31 and can only help motley crew of safeties.

LOL.  Funny in a scary way.  (If Boldin has a big year and San Fran wins the Superbowl, smh.....) :bitenails:

I honestly think that is what John wants,if Jim wins, think about what that does for there family name, now and forever in the coaching ranks! The Harbaugh name will be mentioned in the same breath as the Lombardi's,Belecheck's,and Tuna's of the world.

He looked fine in the first half. Give him time. Birk had games like that too while with us. He may have made the protection calls better, but Birk would stink it up even worse sometimes in the run game. Let him play through it and work at it before calling him a wasted pick. -_-

Loved Matt Birk, but lets be real, he would get tossed in the run game the last 2 years.  Give Gino some time.  He did handle Atkins fairly well last year.  Not sold on the guy at all, but willing to give him 8 starts.

I remember Wilfork destroying Birk in the 2011 title game.

I remember a play where Wilfork pick Birk up by his shoulder pads and chucked him into Rice.  Gotta give Wilfork some credit, great player.
