Dallas Clark surprises with solid performance
by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com

Ravens tight end Dallas Clark filled a huge void in the team's offense, as quarterback Joe Flacco looked his way early and often in Week 1 against the Broncos Thursday.

Clark was targeted a team-high 12 times, and brought in seven of those passes for 87 yards, both of which ranked second on the team. He almost had an even bigger game, if not for a drop of a sure touchdown near the end of the second quarter.

Clark was not expected to have much of a role after signing late in the preseason, but the absence of Dennis Pitta appears to have opened up a niche for him to fill in the offense. He will try to follow his solid debut up in Week 2 against the Browns.

This is strictly for fantasy reasons. Clark looked old out there and dropped more passes than I can count... including a TD pass when the game was still tied in the 2nd quarter.

He's not as wrong as you think. We can't just pretend those seven catches didn't happen.

What's that say about the rest of our team?  I doubt Denver went into this game thinking we have to stop Clark. So it doesn't surprise me that he was open.

So yes, he had a lot of catches, but he also cost us on a lot of downs though as well.

87 yards is pretty solid fantasy numbers from a TE.

Pitta would have put up huge numbers if it was him instead of Clark.

Seven catches in garbage time vs. 6 incompletions when we needed him.

Well that's just not true.

Well, then what is the correct figure? Maybe I'm remember wrong, but I think Clark's run started after the Broncos were up by three TDs.
