Sugarcoat????? Not even sugar could cover for that loss. I watched this team from day one. The struggle to build another good team, then in 1 off-season watch it be destroyed by FO moves that anyone could see were goofy. Whatever they been smokin' has definitely gone to their heads. Not enough nucleus to be viable. Now time for re-re-building. It's going to be a long long season. Bone-heads. You gotta' world class QB without doubt but no one to catch his passes. Bone-headed. The lot of them last night should step down out of respect for the fans. I gotta high school team that plays better. No way to sugar coat anything I saw last night. Maybe a train load of molasses would get close.

Half of the starters that left weren't all that great (Kruger, Ellerbe, Cary Williams) and Ray retired. You could argue keeping Boldin might've lessened the damage but the defense still has to stop Peyton, which they very rarely did.

Also, supposedly the team has to mesh and build chemistry, which makes sense.

This is not the first time that Graham has been singled out for all the wrong reasons. I am hoping the majority of his coverage issues are communication issues, but don't see it. As for Jimmy? Better? OK, but not good enough. Huff? Is he a Raven or a Raider? He gets paid plenty to tackle. Enough said.
As for Rick Wagner. He is not ready to step in the place of a past Pro Bowl RT, but I am not ready to say Oher deserves a huge payday like some here. Yes he is the best RT we have but don't forget as the season goes, there will be stalled drives due to his false starts..... We have all witnessed it too much.

I am still disappointed like you, but aren't you being a little harsh? I didn't mind when fans negg'd me when I said it would be a learning curve to gel. But, I expect this team to get better, week by week and be in championship mode come December. Let us hope we don't lose too many games before we get to that point.

I have said before, like many, "in Oz we trust". OK. In Oz we trust. I'm willing to give this time as we have no choice! Cleveland won't roll over for us but let us think that, with 9 days, we will correct some mistakes and not be exposed where are weaknesses are like Peyton did last night. I hate Chris Collinsworth but believe he is the one that said this "test"last night, wasn't a test, but like a final on the first day. The Ravens will get better. I'm expecting that.

Bottom line is: You gotta catch those passes... Flacco was on; He didn't look bad at all. John Eisenberg said it... Take away the drops and you can add another 14 - 21 points to the score easily... I have never seen Clark drop that many; and Dickson looked AWFUL. He was a step behind it all night long. Get that together? That's all I'm sayin.

Yeah, Torrey couldn't get separation, and Jacoby looked good (until our own guy took him out of the game).

It could have been a game.

Peyton threw at our secondary all night long... Because he could. That's all.

Dropped passes, blown coverage, looks like we're missing "Q" & Eddie already. Man have we got some work to do.

Come on now...  Time to move on!!!  No coulda's or shoulda's... They knew what they were doing???  I mean did you know Ed was going out for Hip surgery?  We knew he had that hip problem, He's had it for a couple years.  And 'coby looked good in the slot last night...  til our rookie guy took him out on that return.

We got Webby back there.  I think it's only a matter to time 'til we're watching Elam...  I'm with the guys on this one.  You gotta have time to gel....  We will!

The receivers didnt drop a bevy of passes...they all played well. The TEs dropped a bevy of passes.

And the pass pro was great until Ricky Wagner took the field, Joe had all day. Oher getting hurt is what really screwed us

Exactly. The receivers were fine. The TEs were abysmal.

My heart sank at the way we were pummeled into submission by Manning's magic! I had the audacity to be shocked when Manning received $20 MM a year this past year, but, now that deal looks like an absolute steal for Denver!

We need some accountability out of our coaches and players. Dean Pees has some explaining to do as do Clark, Dickson and Stokely. Shame on you! Watch rookie Marlon Brown and learn Dickson! That is how you make a difference in a big game.

Boy, for all the misery, there is always a silver lining. I think we may have found a good receiver in Brown after all.

Here's a few thoughts:

I didn't know that Welker was also playing Shortstop for the Colorado Rockies.

Apparently, the Lingerie and Arena League refs from last year are officiating this year; the one hit on Dallas Clark should've been a defenseless receiver penalty, not to mention all of the BS no-calls and grounders they missed.

Dallas Clark - Just how many perfectly thrown balls can someone drop in one game? Even worse, he's still better than Dickson.

The unsportsmanlike conduct penalty on Jimmy Smith was totally unacceptable, regardless of how much he was held; this is how much he's "matured" this offseason? If you're gonna take a cheap shot, at least try and do it in the scrum, not after the play is dead and the ref is looking right at you.

Same goes for Gradkowsi - I can't remember Birk ever getting a USC penalty.

Will Special Teams ever get its act together? Yes, I know we've got a lot of noobs on the roster, but a blocked punt is ridiculous.

Anyone else catch Suggs' "BSH University" intro at the beginning?

Did you see why Gradkowski got the penalty??? Their defensive guy had his hand all the way up Grad's sleeve and under his shoulder pad... then slams him on the ground after the fact....
Those guys were grabbing, holding, and shoving late all night... they were itchin' for it. And that's exactly why it happened.

This statement, I Absolutely Agree With:

Will Somebody Catch the Dang Ball from the TE position!!!!!!!!!!! How about Furstenburg, over these other Butterfinger Bums. <br />I Hope Jones and Oher are only out for a week or so, otherwise were screwed on Offense even more

Dickson had a bad night, but he is still the best healthy TE we've got. I would agree with having Furstenburg over Clark though, till/if Pitta gets back. Dickson will rebound, I guarantee that. But this is going to be a long season. Good thing we just won a SB.

2 Things. WTF is up with Michael Huff? I thought he is suppose to be some speed track champ or something.... He looked slower than a bag of rocks. And the refs need to start getting fined for missing plays like the 2 Welker drops, the coach shouldn't even have to throw a challenge flag on something that clearly obvious.

where all the cary william haters now lol

If Cary Williams was in there they would've probably scored 40 points in the 1st half also.

Can't believe all of the dropped balls (Clark-Dickson),we need some speed for Flacco to be able too throw the ball down field,it seemed the Bronco's were always two steps ahead of our receivers and now if Jones doesn't get better soon.....We'll really be screwed!

i felt bad for flacco, a lot of dropped passes, and too many mistakes, but i can tell one thing flacco is the man, and he will lead to us to couple more SBs, he's resilient guy.

The sky may seem like it's falling, but it's one game and one that most thought could be a loss anyway. Joe was actually pretty good carrying the team without any real help from his receivers. He lost Jacoby and Oher. Harbs would've challenged that call if he's seen it for sure - just not sure HOW they didn;t see that one.

I have my concerns about the OL. Without Oher it, will be sketchy. The WR's will bounce back with Mellette and Brown. The TE's are a major concern and they may want to abandon/change that part of their playbook this season unless they can insert Juice and Furstenburg satisfactorily into it.

The defense WILL bounce back. They were holding Peyton down until the offense had all those 3 and outs and Peyton ran them into the ground afterward. I'd like to see Elam in of Ihedigbo though. If you going to have rookie mistakes and penalites, but as well have a rookie in there.

When ther offense sustained drives the defense did better after having a rest.

John is right, I thought Flacco was alone, he was throwing great passes all game...drops.
.

And when Oher went down he really had to hurry because the pass pro fell apart. He IS our franchise QB.
.
Play Marlon Brown, his performance put others to shame and has been lost in all the panic!

Not that I am a coach but some possible solutions

1. Bring up Furstenburg, activate Melette, put Trawick on Practice squad to make room. Put Stokley in as a 3rd down receiver when distance to go is 3-7 yards. He can't separate for plays down the field. That's for Melette and Thomspon once healthy.
2. Huff can play CB. consider playing him there. Find out if he covers better than Smith and let Elam start at FS. At least he tackles and has speed to cover. Big hitter and tone setter. He needs to be on the field.
3. If Oher can't go, KO to right tackle, Reid to guard. Can't have Wagner face good pass rushers
4. You can two good RBs. Offense must go through the run game. Flacco is at his best when Ravens can run the ball. I know what Flacco did in the playoffs against Pats defense which isn't that great, but Remember the Rice 18-20 touch rule.
4.

I was coming on to express that exact sentiment. You start Ihedigbo because he's supposed to bring a veteran reliablility to the secondary. If he's not going to be doing that, you might as well be getting the guy with more upside, and that you invested a first round pick in some game playing experience... even if Elam isn't as good as Ihedigbo at this second, put him in and he'll be better in a couple games.
