Jacoby Jones out 4-6 weeks - Who fills in?

Leon Washington would be a nice addition to the team, same goes for McKnight. I'd be happy with anyone as long as we get someone so Pierce & Webb don't have to do it.

Yeah I'm more concerned about the KR/PR aspect than WR.

I saw the list of available free agents and if that's all that is left on the market let Doss do returns .webb is way to valuable to be doing returns and then Pierce wow bad options.... dress mellete give him a shot

The front office has failed at having quality depth at receiver in spectacular fashion.

To be honest, we were never good at drafting for passing offenses. Think about how long it took to find a franchise QB in Joe. And he never really had elite receivers to throw the ball to.

Torrey, atleast for now, barely looks like a legit #1.

fyi last year after boldin was traded  I said the same thing about Oz not being able to draft or sign a wr that had a 1000 yard season . I believe it was 16 and not one was valuable until Torrey , the exception. it began a rant that lasted days , I was ungrateful , had no football knowledge on and on .I agree 100%

The only positives here are that it isn't for longer... Lee Evans' high ankle sprain sidelined him for almost an entire season. We're lucky we get Jacoby back right before a tough three game stretch against our 3 division rivals. And heck, that hit was so ugly we're lucky it wasn't a tear or broken bone.

The other positive is that it forces the young guys into the spotlight. Just like with Torrey taking over for Evans, Marlon Brown is going to get extensive playing time and a golden opportunity to develop and gain valuable experience with the first team offense. He looks like the real deal and could be that big bodied wideout we've been clamoring for for YEARS.

We don't know who Ozzie is looking at but if history is any indicator he'll find us somebody that will contribute. Whoever he brings in could turn out to be a key factor in a victory down the road. Lets stay positive here guys.

And that's great news about Oher. Wagner looks like a promising prospect but he's nowhere near ready to start on the line.

Jones was looking like such a good receiver too. Ugh this really pisses me off.

Let's not go too overboard.  Jacoby was playing very well @ WR before going down last night.  But a week ago everyone wanted anyone but Jacoby as our starting wideout.

To me, we'll be fine in the pass game without Jacoby.  The loss really hurts in ST.

Ach FFS! ;-(

This news really sucks. I thought Jacoby was having a decent game last night before he got hurt and with our receiving core being so shallow, and so short of talent, already we really don't need things like this to be happening. I hate to say it but when you go into an NFL season with one area of your team being as weak as we are at WR then accidents like this seem to have a weird habit of happening. I understand the reasons why we traded Anquan Boldin but we were playing with fire the moment we did and didn't replace him.

So what now? Brandon Lloyd?? A trade???

Lloyd's a talented guy but the Ravens are a team who puts a lot of stock in having a harmonious locker room and signing players who have character as an upside. Reports would seem to suggest Lloyd is not in that bracket and can be a disruptive influence. If so then the doesn't sound like a guy Ozzie will be looking at. However, if the options on the table are thin enough, we may end up being backed into a corner and having no choice but to make an offer to him.

As for a trade, who could we feasibly get? I don't know. Anyone got any ideas??

I think the ravens are in need of another slot receiver  they already have plenty out side receivers and they may want  Marlon Brown to continue to Start next to Torrey Smith as the other out side receiver. The ravens overall offensive passing game is map around with making the   opposing defense fear being beating deep but at the same time fear being beating by slot receiver / receivers that can make plays in the middle of the field.

Brandon Stokley and Dallas Clarks are suppose to be the two receivers to help outside receivers such as Torrey Smith  and Jacoby Jones jobs alot easier when it come to doing what they do best which is going deep but the slot receivers they have are not as young as they used to be so limiiting their snaps may be best to keep them as effective as they can be.

I'm not sure about  whom the ravens should target but Bear wideout Earl Bennett could help or the ravens may just have to bring back Tandon Doss he knows  the system already and second chancea can't hurt .

Not really.... Having two speedsters on the field at the same time is crucial. The moment Jacoby got injured they were able to key up on Torrey and in turn shut down the intermediate passing game. With the deep game neutralized they were able to focus on Rice, Stokley, and the tight ends. Having speed on the outside is extremely important to the passing game.

I think it's up to Joe to work with his receivers, especially the young ones, and get the most out of them.

Joe did all he could last night. He made all the throws. His targets need to start catching the passes.

Clark and Dickson should personally apologize to him after leaving him out to dry yesterday.

ESPECIALLY Clark and Dickson. Clark makes that TD catch and Dickson catches that 3rd and long for a 1st down and we could have been looking at a totally different ball game. Both of those catches were Pitta's bread and butter...
