Jacoby Jones out 4-6 weeks - Who fills in?

281 posts in this topic

He is, and the J-E-T-S SUCK SUCK SUCK are the front runners.

If we want him that changes easy lol

You get a gold star then for having one of the few intelligent ideas I've seen today.

We have someone to replace him. His name is Deonte Thompson.

When is he going to be not injured?  Given Stokley's complete lack of separation and inability to fight for the ball and make a contested catch last night, I'm more interested in seeing how Deonte can perform in that slot receiver role he supposedly was doing well in during camp.

If he gets off I'll advocate signing him since he'll be cheap.  I don't care what you do off the field if you handle your business on the field, and he certainly got some things done on the field.  It's not like the NFL doesn't love a 'redemption' story.

And Steelers fans would be able to make the same tired murder jokes even with Ray Lewis gone. Works out for everyone. :)

Sry. That was a bad joke. I know. I just need something to cheer me up. We got beat by 7 TDs and that's still not the worst thing that happened to the team in Denver.

It well be interesting to see how well Thompson performs on KOs with a high ankle sprain.

What Free Agent WRs do we have to look at? If we were to sign Randy Moss or Brandon Lloyd I will not be happy. Even though we would lose someone on our team or a early pick in the draft, it would be worth it to trade for a worthy young receiver.

I wouldnt be surprise if  the ravens bring back Tandon Doss and Sign Joe Mcknight or Leon Washington for punt/kick returns. I doubt the ravens trade for Kenny Britt since he's still dealling with issues from  a acl tear but they could be interested in the titans other receiver or even the bears receiver Earl Bennett

Ugh.   My heart just sank a little:

Looks like it's Torrey Smith, Marlon Brown, and Brandon Stokley as our WR corps for a while.

Any word on Thompson's injury?

Kris Jones from Russell Street report tweeted Jones could be back first, but that was before this news.

Yeah Bennett took a pay cut recently. Dont know if the Bears still want him or not though

Ach FFS! ;-(

This news really sucks. I thought Jacoby was having a decent game last night before he got hurt and with our receiving core being so shallow, and so short of talent, already we really don't need things like this to be happening. I hate to say it but when you go into an NFL season with one area of your team being as weak as we are at WR then accidents like this seem to have a weird habit of happening. I understand the reasons why we traded Anquan Boldin but we were playing with fire the moment we did and didn't replace him.

So what now? Brandon Lloyd?? A trade???

Lloyd's a talented guy but the Ravens are a team who puts a lot of stock in having a harmonious locker room and signing players who have character as an upside. Reports would seem to suggest Lloyd is not in that bracket and can be a disruptive influence. If so then the doesn't sound like a guy Ozzie will be looking at. However, if the options on the table are thin enough, we may end up being backed into a corner and having no choice but to make an offer to him.

As for a trade, who could we feasibly get? I don't know. Anyone got any ideas??

I wouldn't mind Devon Wylie.

You know it's bad when these are the names you're throwing out lol.

I never even knew of this kid until he blew up our only receiver not named Torrey. Dammit! Now I hate him for no real good reason.

Leon Washington would be a nice addition to the team, same goes for McKnight. I'd be happy with anyone as long as we get someone so Pierce & Webb don't have to do it.
