Week Two - Browns @ Ravens

271 posts in this topic

Similarly there were communication errors as well as extremely poor play from the tight end position. I expect Clark and Dickson to have enough pride to bounce back. Certainly one of them. On a positive note jacoby was playing like a legit number 2 and brown is breaking out as well. These 3 will be a very lethal group the more time they have with flacco.

Now the browns defense I find it laughable how much respect they are getting. I see little ability to stop the run on this defense. We should run the ball 40 times at them and exploit their poor secondary as well. Haden can not handle our passing attack alone. This game will not be pretty for the browns. I expect them to be worse thanadt year. And harbaugh will have the ravens sharp. I expect a monstrous blow out. 42 - 13

When was the last time that we've blown out the Browns?
You're very optimistic and I can appreciate that, but you have to be realistic. The Browns dont have big name players but they are hard to move the ball against. Our running game this past weekend (before we started getting our butts kicked) was sub par.
I'm not saying that we'll lose this game all I'm saying is that the Browns deserve respect, they're not the jets.

We'll see what the Browns do tomorrow. I'll be watching that game. Partly because it's our Week 2 opponents. And partly because my week 1 FFL matchup has Trent Richardson and I have the defense that is supposed to stop Trent Richardson.

Yeah.....the browns are pretty solid and it really depends on Weeden. That defense is ready to go and the oline isn't bad either. We all know about Trich he's the second coming of Mal with his running style.

Im actually excited for this game.  People who dont pay attention to the Browns assume that it wont be a good game just because its the Browns, but correct me if im wrong, its not like we walked all over them last year.  Weeden has another year under his belt and they have richardson, so im excited to see how are defense handles him, or doesnt handle him in a sense.  I dont know how anyone couldnt be excited for this game.  Its like in fantasy football when you draft Green-Ellis....hes not a sexy pick, but hes gonna get some points, the Browns arent a sexy team, but they are gonna put up a fight and we always welcome that

The Browns have a better defense than the Broncos. Plus their offense looked fluid in the preseason.
Not saying that they are a playoff team but they are a team that should be respected.

Whaaat???  How do you rationalize that the browns d is better than the broncs?  Cmon' Man!

The brownies are in our division and always play us tough.  That said, I wouldn't want to be any team coming to Bmore next week, injuries or not. Home opener for the SB Champions after a crap loss? We dominate. Cmon' Man!

The Browns will have their top corner who is a top 5 CB in the league and they have a very formidable pass rush.

........though unproven.  broncs were ranked #2 last year, brownies #23. Even with improvement, no way that gap goes away.

The broncos had dumervil and miller last year.. Probably the best pass rushing duo.
Also they played the chiefs, raiders and chargers twice a year.
Tell me which offense you were afraid of?

so 6 out of 16 games put them at #2? i don't think so.........  And their pass rush looked pretty good to me Thursday night.

The brownies do not have a better D than the broncs.

The Browns are never a cake walk.

I fully anticipate a win, but not a clobbering.

Oh and on the current topic, Denvers D looked pretty outstanding to me.

Sounds like Oher will be back, we will need him.  Our O-line will have to be the stars of the night.

Our D this year looks more apt to hold Richardson enough.  My worry is moving the ball on offense.  (Though it should be easy to negate Kruger even though he is multi-facid  ;) )

I'm not too worried because A) it's a divisional opponent, and B. we just lost, so there is no way in the world our guys are going to be sleeping on this team.  There's a reason we've gone 6-1 in meaningful division games (not counting last year's Cinci finale) in the last 2 seasons.  Besides, unless Brandon Weeden has undergone the most amazing transformation in NFL history, there is no way that offense should be able to torch us the way Peyton Manning did on Thursday.

Players of the game predictions:  Rice, Webb

Typically solid:  Flacco, Smith(s)

Players I know will be better:  Dickson, Huff

Players I hope will be better:  Clark, Gradkowski

Player who furthers his emergence and guarantees much future PT:  M. Brown

Player who's future PT depends on this game:  Graham

Issue that I know will be resolved:  Defensive communication, particularly in the secondary

Issue I hope will be resolved:  Receiving

Issue that I think will continue to nag us:  Penalties

Wildcard issue (could improve drastically or possibly continue to hurt us):  Special teams (personnel changes this week?)

Yeah but Weeden can't even shine Peyton's shoes. A better defense and a fluid offense is not going to make a poor QB into a reasonable replacement for a great one.

We may get beat. Maybe. But if we get blown out, then I'll worry a BIT. Denver was was it was. An opening game in Mile High. Tough. The injuries, crap hands, and second half gassing by the D just killed us. We will improve.

if we get beat it will because the defense wont be able to stop Richardson like last year. He just punishes tacklers. I hope Huff actually tries to tackle next week

I don't respect the browns at all. In what world is their d better than even the weakened Denver d? I don't see why they are getting so much love this year. It's a very flawed team with a flawed coaching staff a soft overrated back and qb play similar to the jets.

The Ravens have a lot of holes......and the Browns have a team to exploit them.

It's gonna be an interesting game.

If the Browns win, you'll have to admit the changes were unwise.

I agree, just telling everyone don't let the Browns losing record fool you. They are still a division rival who plays us tough year in and year out.

Now that I agree with. They always play us hard. But I think that Harbs knows that and will prepare appropriately. At least I hope he does.

The Ravens were outscored by a large margin in the second half of the Superbowl and against Denver. If it happens in the Browns game, I'll call it a developing trend.

Lmao. So a half of the Superbowl last season and one game this season and you think there might be a trend?

This place is so full of good comedy after a loss.

i hope that won't be a trend, it seems though that in recent years that we play one half lights out, and then take the other half off for some reason, they have to remember that each game is 2 halves

I watched Clev. today because we got the game locally in Florida. Our old cast off Cousins started at G for Cleveland and did really bad drawing many holding penalties before they got the C Mack to help him in the 2nd half to double team the DT on passing plays.

What I'm thinking about too is will Dickson be able to catch the ball this week if we throw it his way?

We need to watch out for Jordan Cameron. That guy had a beastly game and with the way we struggled against Thomas, I fear for our safeties covering Cameron.

Yeah, he is the X factor of this game. We better be prepared for his athleticism in the passing game.

I really think with our improved D-Line we can slow RIchardson and get pressure on Weeden.  We just have to make sure Cameron doesn't go beastly on us.
