Cant wait to see Mellette.   I am praying he takes over stokley next week.

I was thinking the same thing if he had been active tonight if he could have helped ,,,I think he could have done better then stokley and clark put together .

Joe Flacco, Terrell Suggs, Elvis Dumervil (except that one penalty), Jimmy Smith, Lardarius Webb, Marshal Yanda, Marlon Brown, Torrey Smith, Justin Tucker, and Jacoby Jones were the standouts of the game from my view. Torrey has an inconsistent game and had a few bounce off of his hands.

Ngata had a great game as well.

I think Cody & Canty were decent.

We got the toughest game of the season out of the way already.

I honestly don't think so. At the very least, the Browns are a worse offense, but their defense is better. The OL is in trouble, especially if Oher isn't back.

Yeah, Ngata looked good early on until he started to wear down. He was doing a good job getting off blocks to make tackles but I'm very concerned about our pass rush. I liked what I saw from Canty a lot.

Every game this year will be a tougher than usual affair, because everyone turns it up a knotch to knock off the defending champs.  If last night is any indication of how the season goes, it's going to be a very long one for us.  One has to wonder what the FO and the coaching staff has been plotting.  Have they just thrown in the towel and decided to totally rebuild now?  Is it the post-Super Bowl slump so many other teams have experienced?  Are they trying to get by on the cheap?  So many questions we'll have answered in the weeks ahead.  It's a roller coaster, folks, and it looks a wild ride this season!  :)

...is the motto, correct?

I'm not one of the Boldin fanboys (in my case fangirls), but the deficiencies of our receiving corps were ridiculously apparent tonight.

I'm hardly a Flacco apologist, but the drops were just out of control tonight. Can't expect your QB succeed in that environment.

So what happens now? Do we make a trade? Is Clark gone? Let's talk.

What makes Anyone believe that Dallas Clark won't Drop Key Passes if he is retained?.....Who really wants him running in Slow Motion through the middle of the field with the ball after a "Non Drop"...oblivious that he is dangling the ball out like a a piece of Candy?....Dallas Clark cannot play anymore. Dallas Clark cannot play NFL Football....Dallas Clark cannot Play on the Ravens. That was evident in Pre-Season. A Veteran doesn't develop "Hands" at this point in his "career".  It's over.

Ozzie Newsome has picked us some Great Talent.  He has been operating under the Spector of having been involved in a Previous Championship and having attempted to retain the Key Components of that Team for another Run. It didn't work out.  As a result he has Managed this Champion Opposite of his Management of that Former Champion.  He bent too far the other way in overcompensation. He failed to truly appreciate the Critical Components of the 2012 Ravens, let them go, and has been forced into signing Has Been's like Dallas Clark, Michael Huff and Stokely.  Worse yet, his ego may prevent him from acknowledging the mistakes of those "releases" or correcting the mistake of the ill advised signings.  Fans are at the mercy of the Ego of Oz.

I say we stick with who we got for another week. Depending on how that goes, we could do a few different things. If Clark continues to struggle next week, cut him and bring up Furstenburg. If Stokley continues to struggle, cut him and play Mellette. I'd rather struggle with young'uns than old vets.

If they rebound, that's good news.

Yeah I kind of agree with you, but Clark actually looked better than Dickson. Dickson could not hold on to anything. Do we go with Clark and Furstenburg?

I hate to say it, but I 100% agree. Maybe you replace Huff with Elam, but I don't think you can replace Boldin. They put all their eggs in the Dennis Pitta basket and he got hurt so I don't blame Ozzie for that, but from what I saw out of the first team in preseason and last night - he did bend too far the other way.

Positives? Well call me crazy but i like what i saw from Jimmy Smith, Lardarius Webb, and our d-line. We will be extremely tough to run on this year. Bynes needs some work though and We need to play Elam a lot more. And Marlon Brown is a stud.

DLine was good, especially considering Art Jones wasn't there.

Not sure on that. Dickson also has a lot of promise. I would rather keep Dickson over Clark considering Clark's age and injury concerns.

Dickson is in what, his fourth year? We should be over the "promise" stage. If this continues he will not be a Raven next year.

Next year, I agree. I want to cut ties at the end of this season. Cutting him now or in season will not help.

Looks down the draft board, sees Jimmy Graham drafted later in the same round.   :34853_doh:

Nobody wants to hear this but I said it when it happened, the Ravens cut the wrong TE. Shiancoe should have been retained. He's a big target in the red zone and better hands than Clark. This is the 2013 Dallas Clark. There was a reason he and Stokely were still available. Good grief, why the Ravens brought in old slow receivers and cut young developing players is perplexing. Brandon Stokely is better than David Reed and Tandon Doss?  And to think Bobby Rainey would get through waivers was plain stupid.

I love Ozzie but other than Osemele the OL hasn't been addressed aggressively. Gradkowski is pushed around like a rag doll and Jah Reid is still here. God help us if McKinney or Yanda goes down.

If Jimmy Smith can't play corner (which he can't) put him at safety because anybody's gotta be better than (Michelle) Huff.  I'm giving Corey Graham some slack, he was chasing the best slot receiver in football.

Harbaugh harps on having good 'character' players.  We all want good guys but if Harbaugh is too insecure to have tough players who have a voice and personality then it's gonna be a long 4 years for Ravens fans.

Hindsight is 20/20

I know.  I hate going down that route.  I've been disappointed in the Dickson pick ever since we made it.

I don't think we need to add anyone I understand there were a lot of dropped passes, but we were doing great before jacoby went down. After he went down torrey got much more strongly covered and flacco couldn't throw his way. With jacoby in we had to legit receivers and marlon brown who proved he can play. Oh and don't forget about ray rice.

I said the same about Shiancoe.
