John Harbaugh Signs Extension

30 posts in this topic

Just heard on ESPN, Adam Schefter is reporting John Harbaugh has been signed to a "long" contract extension. Any details on this?

About time, if it is true.

Adds 2 years to the 2 he already has left.  He's here through 2016.  He's now one of the highest paid coaches around $7M.

I wouldn't be surprised if this took place back in the Spring.  Why would Harbaugh, or any Ravens' executive announce it?  The media probably just found it out.

Very well deserved. The guy, along with Oz, DeCosta, Bisciotti, and the rest of the F.O., has built us into a potential dynasty.

Congratz Coach Harbaugh, well deserved....most underrated coach..

It's better to lock him up for 4 years, rather than wait till next year and it will cost us more than today contract.

Multiple rings incoming....

Arguably the best coach in the league right now. There's nobody else I'd rather have as our head coach.

I'd rather have Belichick, but Harbs earned my respect last season. I rank him second, followed by Sean Payton, Mike Tomlin, Jimmers, and Mike McCarthy. What Harbs lacks in tactical ability he makes up for with his ability to manage the team, which is arguably more important for a head coach. Admittedly it took me a while to realize that, and firing Cam tipped the scales in his favor, but Harbs is a great coach.

this, he also rubs me the wrong way every time I hear him speak, I wish he'd give a genuiene interview after the game etc, but I understand why he keeps everything close to his chestq

That a loyalty were my problems with him, but all that was addressed thanks to a smart team owner. I understand why he uses coach speak, but I thought Harbs was very genuine in America's Game.

Is there any coach who doesn't play his cards close to his chest? I'd rather that than a coach getting caught up in an interview like Rex and then doing stupid crap...like taking questions with his back turned.

I hate this move after thinking that he hooked his brother up with Boldin.  So funny how we trade this guy for a 6th round pick that may not even make the team.

Yep.  You are right on point.  Sorry John forget the 5 straight playoffs, SB championship.  You just traded away Boldin (even though it wasn't you, it was the FO) to you brother.
