Chris Berman picks us to win tonight and the Super Bowl

26 posts in this topic

He just picked the Ravens to not only beat the Broncos but return to the Super Bowl. I believe he has predicted us to be there like the last four years. (And rightfully so.) I like Berman, but he definitely has more homerism in him than most people on these boards. :p

I believe we do have a chance to get there.

We have a pretty good shot at doing both. I don't see this team peaking until the later parts of the season myself, when all the players really start getting into a consistent flow with each other. That bodes well with any team whose hope is to win the Big Game. That's what happened with us last year, we caught fire in the playoffs, and we were unstoppable. Now as far as this game goes, I see us winning, but its going to be closer than what some people on here are thinking. Manning isn't just going to roll over and play dead while we kick their butts. He's going to be pretty fired up, and with his receivers, he'll make a lot of noise. We'll just have to keep answering back, which we can and probably will do. Tonight's a big night.

Boomers the man.... hate him announcing the home run derby (back back back back) but love him otherwise.

This is at least the 3rd year in a row hes picked us, and he would have been spot on the first 2 if not for some slippery hands and a crooked foot.

I've never seen a Superbowl team more disrespected. I've never heard analysts talk so much about losing players, and totally taking things out of context, when talking about the Ravens. Like talking about the 'Huge' loss of Kruger but never mentioning he never started and we got a better player anyways. That being said, it's nice we have someone in the media who actually supports the team and sees our greatness, besides Jaws.

I'm with you, man. They have nothing to chew on except the fact that we lost Lewis and Reed. I mean, give it up. I hope we absolutely dominate. I also hope we sweep and destroy the Bengals. They're getting so much hype. I heard on first take, they got some fire power and then mentioned...James Harrison.

They got after us the entire year last year because the defense was "old," but now that defense has fire power in James Harrison. C'MON MAN.

Berman's sort of like the man who chooses the same team every year, and when they finally win, he says, "I picked them! I picked them! I told you!" ;)

They seem to have decided the steelers are the too old team now but our young team lost too many vets? Which is it? The bengals are the sexy pick but dalton is way too big of a limiting factor. They will be swept by both of the big dogs once again. To me the afc still comes down to Baltimore v New England. Pittsburgh in my eyes is the third most dangerous.

This is what is driving me crazy the most this year.  Last year before the season and during the playoffs it was our old guys that were bringing us down.

Now those old guys are gone and we replaced them with similar replacement-level players (in their current states).  But now we lost those vets and can't compete.

What will it take?

How am I supposed to get work done today?!?!?

Your not.  My boss must be wondering why I seem like a lame duck in my office.

I have dual monitors going on, none of which have any work  going on.

Seems a trendy thing to hate on the Ravens. Winning a Superbowl MVP wasn't even enough for people to admit Flacco is even a decent starting QB! It's actually comical. The Bengals are the media darlings this year, even ahead of the Texans in Power Rankings! We'll just continue to do what we do, and they'll have no choice but to talk about us come playoff time.

Yeah I really don't get this one either - all the guys we added, Darryl Smith, Canty, Spears, Huff, Dumervil, Stoke, Clark, have all been in the league 8+ years at least.  Not sure what these people consider a veteran anymore.
