It really isn't.  I was born and raised here in Baltimore but I'm fortunate enough to not have the accent.

I always get told I don't have it.  I make a lot of calls to other states for work and I always get the "You're from Baltimore?  You don't have the accent like everyone else I speak to."

Not gonna lie, I'd definitely take a Baltimore (or "Bawldehmur" as I say it in whatever weird mishmosh accent I have) accent over the really thick southern accents. I've been here for two years and I'm still not sure what 75% of people here are trying to say to me. And this isn't even The Deep South. 

 

To be fair though, 50% of people here have no idea what I'm saying either...

I admit that when I say "Baltimore" it sounds like "Baldemore". That's the only word I'm conscience about that I know is responsible due to my accent.

But when I was working in Ny I met this nurse (who claimed to live in Baltimore city coincidentally) and asked if I was from Ireland...

Some people at my old school asked if I was from Texas! So I don't know what the hell accent I have lol

Wow... I encourage people to watch this short vice documentary on YouTube called: "Undercover Cop Tricks Autistic Student into Selling Him Weed"

Horrible story. I feel so bad for the kid. Eye-opening stuff though. It's pretty much real life 21 Jump Street. Don't quote me and discuss it though because it may eventually offend some people. This story is just too outrageous not to share. When will it stop.

GAH. The "warsh" thing is the only thing about the Bawldehmur accent I cannot get behind. I can even kinda tolerate "awl" for "oil."

My first pair was Julius Marlow. It's a guy's name so you know they'll be a bit pricey. good pair though, lasted about four years and was really comfortable. Nowadays I'm packing some pair that cost like $15 and happened to not be a terrible fit, so with that maybe my thoughts should be taken with a pinch of salt, haha.
