Yup, if all else fails pick Denver games by the temperature.  Ugh, I had to bet on logic even though I was feeling New England.  Now less than 3 is tied with me for the week lead.

 

I did that last week but not this week.

I guess the formula is not quite that simple.  I wouldn't pick the Chiefs over the Broncos though.

Finally have a chance to crack into the top ten, so I need to make "dumb" picks like the one tonight if I have any hope of inching up the leaderboard.

Week 12 Recap:  The Turkey Edition

 

18 games (16 in week 10) separating the top from the active bottom.  

 

Traitors: None

Going Against the Grain: None

Dropouts (missed multiple weeks):  GRENDELWULF21, SeaHawk, Poes Crows, 1/28/01 (?), Miami Hurricane, Arnie uk (?), SAM (?)

Crush Watch:  10th spot.  Guess you needed a change of scenery from 7

 

Cream of the Crop:

  1. Gabe's Picks - Dropped week 12 and had 8 picks to fall back on.  Lonely at top.
  2. Divinations of T3h Raven - Solid week 12.  Everyone in front struggled which moved him up
  3. PuRock - Also Dropped week 12 and had 8 picks to fall back on.  Stayed 2 games back of Gabe.
  4. flaccopoe - Only 5 picks right in week 12 did not have 8 picks to fall back on.  Fell back 2 games.
  5. FC Horus 13 -Welcome back to the top.  

Bottom of the Barrel:  A lot of the bottom dropped out and didn't make picks in week 12.  

  1. Ravens 3 -  Because of dropouts, moved to #1 in the barrel
  2. TheBlackDog - Almost pulled out, but the bottom is rising!
  3. H8R - Newcomer to the barrel.  Had to drop week 12 (5 picks)
  4. hardforaravenfan - Another newcomer due to the rising floor.
  5. SpiderWebb21 - Got out and got dragged back in.

i don't get this dropped games thing, I understand how it works, but don't see the point of it

It's supposed to make things more competitive, since anyone can have a bad week. But like you said, it really wouldn't change much if it went away.

Like T3h said, it helps if you had a bad week.  Or if you forgot to make your picks.  You won't get knocked out entirely.  The higher your dropped pick number is, the more it will help you down the road.   

 

Before this week, my (and Gabe's) worst week was 8 picks correct.  Because of it, we got bailed out for our bad week 12.

What surprised me is that Gabe didn't get his pick in for the first game.  I'm guessing he wants to keep this thing interesting.

By the end of the 1pm games, I'll either be top 3 or bottom 3 for the week. Book it.

 

Of course, what I meant by that was I'd be right in the middle, as usual.

This wound up being a tough week to pick games.  So many came down to the last few minutes.  Buffalo should have won, Arizona had a chance, and the Browns defense took a dump.  Still, I'm right with the pack this week.
