Pretty cool stats for the Ravens

Maybe we ought to cut the defense a break for playing so average last season when we look at that time of possession stat.  We need to work on that.

Well the defense played a big part in creating the disparity in TOP.  They couldn't stop the run allowing other teams to rack up TOP.

Sure the offense needed to stay on the field more, but the defense isn't without fault.

Agreed, but they were asked to do a lot.

I love the rating comparison of Dilfer to Joe Namath. He has an all-time great moment, and nobody can take that away from him, but I've always thought Namath was very overrated, and doesn't belong in the conversation as one of the "greatest quarterbacks of all time."

The D was bad pretty much all year, except for holding their own in the red zone. You're right, they gave up tons of first downs giving up yards on the ground, thus the tilted TOP.

That and Bradshaw, both dudes were garbage their Super Bowl year. Now obviously the game is waaaay different as you could basically mug WRs down the field back then but a 54.4 rating Bradshaw? Really?

While it is hard to defend a Steeler's QB, at least Bradshaw did it FOUR times. You have to respect that. It's hard enough to win once. Even if you ride your defense (like Dilfer admittedly did), you have to be something if you win it four times.
