Week 1 - Baltimore Ravens at Denver Broncos

Can someone post how many times Flacco launched the ball. I think Caldwell forgot football has running backs that's where you hand the ball to to a runner and he runs.

Suggs is not a leader on defense, he is self promoting.

Dumervil is not that good. I saw it when we played them in the playoffs.

Huff is a joke at safety.

Clark, Stokely, Dickson, Trawick can kick rocks.

Webb is a beast.  Flacco played pretty well but he obviously needs a go to receiver. Field position is going to kill us with Jacoby hurt. And all who said get rid of Oher.  You have to be kidding me.

I'm gonna admit I said get rid of Oher I never really liked him . I am eating crow right now . I don't remember dickson's hands being this bad maybe cause he has been out . I doubt trawick has a job after tonight jones is a huge loss.

The Safeties were also a glaring weakness......We didn't come close to finding viable replacements for Reed and Pollard.

Cary Williams was missed.

Anquan Boldin was sorely missed.

Ellerbe was missed.

Michael Huff was Disaster

Corey Graham was toasted repeatedly......Tried to tell the folks here Cary Williams was undervalued too.

Pay the Price Ravens...........Pay the Price!!!

Elam didn't even see the field until garbage time.

visanthe > clark/dickson .. he didn't look good in the pre season but clark and dickson are AWFUL and visanthe can come in and know the playbook right away.

kenny britt will be an upgrade at WR. dont care what anyone says- Torrey, Britt, Brown - for the sake of depth britt will be nice.

start elam next game

I said from the start we should've kept Shiancoe.

Did you watch the game at all?  Outside of like two runs in the first half and Flacco's audible when they had like 5 guys in the box, the run was getting stuffed at the line for little to no gain.  On top of that we got down and had to try to throw our way out of that.

Don't whine just to whine, try to use a little logic and understand why some things are the way they are.

That was as poor of a collective performance for one half of football as you're ever going to see. Brandon Stokley and Dallas Clark showed their age. Both displayed marginal ability to gain separation and were often neutralized when contested. The magnitude of the absence of Dennis Pitta was evident in the fact that our TE corps may have surpassed his 5 career drops in a single contest. Ed Dickson was arguably as painful to watch as Clark. Aside from an impressive grab, he may have dropped each of his remaining targets. The interior of our OL was routinely penetrated on running plays. I would argue that the loss of Anquan Boldin was evident at times as well. His 50/50 skills were invaluable, especially when other receiving options were being blanketed. On a positive note, Marlon Brown has sustained his status as a very pleasant surprise on the offensive end. I hope that we continue to give him chances to remain a constant contributor.

I felt that each side of the ball suffered due to its counterpart. But defensively, the floodgates were opened after the coaching gaff on the neglected challenge attempt. This was seemingly the turning point of the game, although Clark's mishandling of a scoring opportunity also helped set the outcome in motion. Jimmy Smith had a poor contest, and Corey Graham had what may have been his worst game as a professional. Unfortunately, the same could be said for Michael Huff. However, I disagree with the clamoring regarding Cary Williams. He himself surrendered 12 receptions, 163 yards, a TD and a 108 QBR against Denver last season. It's unlikely that he would've fared much better, if at all. The one positive that was hard to overlook was the resurgence of Lardarius Webb. I personally felt that he fared very well in coverage. His return was a sight for sore eyes. And Haloti Ngata was at least active in the running game.

Aside from the few individual pluses, the only overall positive is that it's far more likely that things improve from hereon in as opposed to getting any worse. It's obviously too early to hit the panic button just yet. As they say, it's only one game, though it is certainly alarming. But I would hope to see a few sparingly used players be given an opportunity for more reps. Perhaps Kyle Juszczyk and Matt Furstenburg at TE and Matt Elam at Safety. At least a few open competitions during the practice week. I'm sure we all can agree on the hopes that this lights a fire under our freshly-spanked behinds.

Suggs is self-promoting, but that doesn't mean he's not a leader.  Did you see who was talking in the circle on the sidelines trying to rally the troops?  Yeah, that was Suggs.  It's ok to be what you are to the media, doesn't mean you aren't something else to the players.

You're whining about the guy who got a sack?  That's what he's paid to do and he did it.  We know he's pretty much a one trick pony, so was Paul Kruger.

Webb should have been switched to Welker after the first drive, but he did get beat.  I think he was just gassed, like a lot of the rest of the defense, but still.

I'm not whining about Doom he just is not that good.  A lot of people just came in thinking we had another Suggs on the other side. Webb is still a beast, the offense killed the defense because they couldn't sustain drives.

Suggs is not a leader of men.  Im sorry

I don't think you're capable of leading the line for the next StarTrek convention

Special teams as a unit were horrendous last night. Blocked punt, self-inflicted injury, long return . They did recover the fumble which was nice but Rossburgs face bothers me!

I think I might have to reevaluate Michael Oher after last night. He was a much bigger miss than I thought he would be.

You know the line play was horrid when Michael Oher appears to be good.

My thoughts exactly.  I have no idea why it took Pees 2 1/2 quarters to realize this.

I have no idea why he can't figure out that you don't need to give every receiver a 10 yard cushion on every bloody play.  It's been going on for years and there's no excuse for it.  I believe it was Graham who got that late contact penalty at 7 yards or so, which is partly on him, but I'm pinning some of the blame on poor schematics.

Especially against a QB like Manning.  He relies on timing, it's vital to disrupt the patterns the receivers are running.

And they specifically drafted Jimmy Smith knowing he was a press man corner, yet I rarely see him in press.  I feel like I'm taking crazy pills.  I don't expect the kid to be a monster if we do that, he's a draft bust for a first rounder, but I don't feel like we're utilizing the talents of our secondary to the fullest.
