Brandon Williams Injured; In A Walking Boot

22 posts in this topic

I thought it was ridiculous that whole game how they played people that were going to get playing time all the way into the 3rd and 4th quarters. Lucky Brown and Elam and Simon didn't get injured. I thought that game was more about the bubble wide receivers and the bubble safties

Good thing Cody suddenly decided to stop being terrible.

Contract year. He sees that money every other free agent of ours gets. Then he decides to become better.

Fine with me, pretty clear Williams is going to be the guy going forward anyways.

The only reason Cody is still here is that every year he has a couple of good games, good enough where people say "hey he might turn things around now", but of course that never happens and then we watch him faceplant during the season. THAT and the fact he's an Alabama guy.

The Williams thing doesn't sound too serious, he might miss a couple weeks. Wouldn't worry too much about it. At least that's what I'm hoping. He'll be a key guy on our D-Line this year behind the 3 starters.

With Williams and arthur jones out for the Thursday night game the ravens will be at a disadvantage. They will need a lot of depth on the line to substitute with mannings no huddle offense. I didn't know Williams was even hurt.

I'm not worried but I'm not dismissing the injury. Something minor can become problematic with the bigger guys. Just ask JO about that toe.

I hope it is nothing serious. He said it was a toe injury, but he was one of my favorite draft picks. Hope he heals soon, He will soon enough be a viable part of our defense.

I disagree.  Remember he was asked to drop weight.  Ngata and Suggs both struggled when they went through that phase (whether it be putting on or losing weight).  They do it too drastically and under-perform from lost strength or added fat.  Cody spent too much time shedding pounds instead of getting stronger and faster.

Art Jones and Williams potentially missing the tilt on Thursday? That sucks....Slide Haloti back over and put in Cody? Or will Marcus spears and the Pernellephant be taking snaps over there.

If I had to guess, it would be Spears on run downs and Tyson during passing situations when Canty is still on the field if we want to rush 3.

Can McPhee still play DE? He might be a good option on passing situations.

Personally, I think he looked better at DE than OLB. I wonder why the switch was made in the first place sometimes.

He's not big enough for a 5 technique.  Really he's a 4-3 DE.  And someday a 4-3 team will pay him to be such.

You're probably right, but he has been pretty underwhelming at OLB. At least when we had him on the line he made some plays for us. I was starting to really like him in that spot.

Yeah, he's just not really fit for a 4-3.  He's probably going to be relegated to passing downs.
