I love this guy as much as the next. He is probably the most explosive returner in the league right now. Unfortunately he doesn't offer much at receiver. He is constantly touted as the number 2 but never does much to impress me. He gets big plays from his speed.
Deonte Thompson matches that speed. Both Jacoby's huge catches (Denver and SF) were simply running fast and beating his man. He is not much more. Deonte is arguably faster and can return kicks. He may not have the experience but he has the athleticism and will learn.
While I don't want to lose Jacoby, if we could a get a quality player at a position of need it may well be worth it.
