"Being hated is not a bad thing"

God, I love Flacco!  ROFL.

That's right. Because if they are hatin', you are hurtin' them!

Manziel is a clown.

Yes, he is. He also comes from a rich family, yet wanted to get paid for his autographs. So he's also a dirtbag.

Joe clearly ment, that he enjoys the doubts and hate, that he faces on a regular basis and used that douchebag as an example. Hell will freeze over before Joe starts acting like Johnny Football. Sweet Jesus do I hate this nickname.

Lol I agree. I love that Flacco isn't a people pleaser. Embrace the hate.

Personally I grew up in Baltimore and bleed black and purple. I have converted many folks here to be Ravens fans. I have also become an avid Texas A&M fan over the past 9 years. I love watching Johnny Football play. Love him or hate him he is the most exciting player in college football. There is no proof Johnny did anything wrong ESPN and Daren Rovell and Joe Shad manufactured the story. I love Joe Flacco because he is even keeled but can be emotional when the situation calls for it. and Like Manzeil does not give a rats butt what the media or others think.

Haters gonna hate, but Joe's going to keep on winning, and they're all going to spend the next 10 years trying to figure out how he keeps doing it.

Manziel shouldn't be on the field of play. Terrell Pryor got tattoos and gave out apparel, and got 4 games which carried over to the NFL. This guy signs things for almost 8Gs and gets suspended one half of a game. I don't like him one bit

Man, I want somebody to knock Manziel out cold in a game. Almost the same thing I wanted to happen to #86 of the Squeelers before he retired.

Damn iPad I accidentally negged you when I was trying to +1

I want the same thing. Cocky and arrogant. NCAA probably doesn't wanna miss out n the money a dynamic player like Manziel can bring in forms of ratings and apparel. Always about the dollar!

Opposites attract!  Flacco is humble, consistently underrated and the pinnacle of professionalism.  Manziel's arrogant, arguably overrated and very questionable character-wise (getting kicked out of Peyton Manning's Passing Academy).  I'm not a Manziel hater btw.  I hope he avoids the Ryan Leaf road.

Lol. Flacco's a troll. Love it.

I LOVE it too. Torrey Smith is a troll too. Interesting how majority of fans almost always view things different than majority of players.

I personally have no hate for Manziel. I do know that there could potentially be a point where he starts going over the top and being too much. He definitely wouldn't be over the top if he controls the game against Alabama!

My prediction would be that he would have his moment of truth once he throws an interception against whoever, and a linebacker or dlineman LEVELS him

That's pretty lame. Not you, I don't think you are lame, but the idea that because someone else got in trouble and one guy didn't so therefore people should default to not liking the guy that got away with it is what really baffles me

Why not give some of that hate to the NCAA for stupid rules? Or inconsistency of being inconsistent? Part of Pryor's problem was Roger Goodell being a jerk. Pryor just had some real bad luck. Meanwhile, TAM is selling pictures of Johnny Manziel and Johnny Football t-shirts, and auctioning the kid off but no one seems to acknowledge double standards and hypocrisy.

100% agree with this.  I don't really follow college football, so I don't know too much about Manziel apart from all of the bad press that he's been getting recently.  Hopefully he's not as big of a tool as the media is making him out to be - we certainly know how the media likes to sensationalize things (like how they're acting like Joe was trying to disrespect Ray when he joked about how he didn't understand anything Ray said during his pregame speeches).

But to dislike Manziel because he didn't receive a punishment as harsh as someone else doesn't make sense.  It is a sham that the NCAA only gave him a half game suspension - but then again we don't know all the facts, and perhaps the NCAA couldn't prove that what the media said happened actually happened.

Don't hate the player, hate the game.

I don't see the big deal to be frank. Going to the frat party was stupid, but getting in trouble over selling autographs is petty and it only indicates the moronically obsessive and controlling nature of the NCAA. Rules are indeed rules, but this is a stupid rule.

I love and stand by what Joe said.

What I think is the real issue with what the NCAA couldn't prove is this.

Manziel comes from an affluent background and as such, had a lawyer on hand ready to go, who in fact came and was holdin court on this issue from Day 1!!! This is a class issue more than anything, albeit not in a malicious way. If you compare it to Dez Bryant's issue, it was all about who could stand up to the NCAA and keep them from abusing misrepresentation of their own rules power. When on Earth have they had to stand up to a scholarship or non-scholarship athlete who had this kind of savvy or even the kind of financial resources that JM has?

I don't like the guy because I thinks he's smug and arrogant. His taunting behavior showed just that as well. It's just my opinion. Some can love him for it. I think he's a scumbag that got away with it and the NCAA is weak for not nailing the kid. Too much money to be made off of him is why I think he's playing still

Got it. But did you see him as smug and arrogant all last season too or did you just see that for the first time on Saturday with the stupid penalties against a nobody team like Rice? That was super dumb and I don't know what he's thinking or why he could be that jacked up - it was Dumb with a capital D

But I can't help but think that how you feel about him and the NCAA not nailing the kid sounds so similar to the 80% of the American sports world that hates Ray Lewis.
