Kenny Britt Rumor

249 posts in this topic

I have a source telling me we'll trade for every good player in the league. But it might also not happen at all. Stay tuned.

Seriously if guys like Adam Schefter don't know about it and are not reporting it then there's nothing to it and complete BS. How come some dude writing a blog or posting stuff on a board has better sources then somebody like Schefter or any other reporter for that matter, guys that have real connections to front offices and agents.

Britt is not coming to Baltimore. His knees are shot, he's got character issues, if the Titans can't use him (and they desperately need receivers) why would we? And how is a guy who can't stay healthy going to help us anyway? Move on, there's nothing to see here...

I have some sources telling me that Britt may end up as a Raven before Tuesday. But they also may just not do the trade since its the opening week. Stay tuned.

The titans are deep at wr.The have Kendall Wright,Damien Williams,Nate Washington, they just signed Kevin Walter in the off season and I've read that Justin Hunter had a good training camp. What the titans need is a QB.

Cant stay healthy, legal troubles and never had a monster year (or even close to a monster year) =overhyped!

He has had Jake Locker and Vince Young throwing to him for 3 of his 4 years. What do you expect his stats to look like?Even Larry Fitzgerald failed to break 1000 yards without a good QB.

I get that. Still think with the legal BS and certainly the long list of injuries (coupled with never really doing what he was intended to do as a 1st rounder) that hes overhyped as hell.

The on,y questions at CB is how long it takes Webb to get back to form. The rest of the top 3 are pretty good compared to most NFL teams. TE is a mess though no doubt about that.

On Britt, the dudes kind of a piece of crap. You make this trade in Madden and turn off injuries and you're looking at an unstoppable #1, #2 combo though lol.

I lol'd so hard.

Not sure if Britt is worth the headache. When healthy, there's no doubting his potential and he'd be a great compliment to Torrey. If we do the trade, I hope that we don't give up too much.

I would LOVE this trade.

People are deluded if they don't think Britt would be a huge upgrade over whoever we start as our number 2 receiver. He is a former first round pick, has had some big games, and is still only 24 years old.

Hopefully a fresh start at a new team would help with his character concerns.

Some people here seem to think that we'd trade Jacoby. I just can't see this happening.

The Titans return game is pretty solid. Darius Reynaud got a kick off return for a TD, and two TDs from punt returns last year, and they also have Marc Mariani to come back from injury.

Wouldn't give up more 6th cause risk is too high

I'd go as low as a 5th, but more or less agree with ya. As Ive stated, I think hes overhyped, but its worth a shot with a late round pick.

He really hasnt done much in this league. The hype is unwarranted

Well i wouldnt  go that far, he has some very impressive games. Heck the one game that we had against the Titans, he was making plays.

But i think im pretty comfortable with our WR core unless we were able to get someone like Larry Fitzgerald which isnt going to happen.

Im okay with our WR "core" (its corps, by the way) as well, but for a 5th or 6th I say go for it. Still believe he's more hype than what he's show actually on the field and in the stat box, but worth a flyer.

Bringing in Britt would again stunt the growth of our receivers as we have always done. I hope that we do not bring him in so that Brown and Mellette have an actual chance at developing, instead of for the 4th straight season relying on stop-gap solutions. Britt is on a one year contract, so who knows if we would be able to keep him beyond this season. Just would make no sense to me. We need to focus on bringing in CB's and TE's. Also, more depth along the O-Line is always a plus.

This is pretty much my sentiment.  If Lee hadn't gotten hurt and Torrey never got a start, he might not have emerged the way he has so quickly.  I'm not saying Brown and Mallette are as pro-ready as even Torrey was, but the more game experience they get, I think the better receivers they will be both at the end of this year and going forward in their careers.

I definitely agree with you on your point of stunting Brown and Mellette's growth, but to me, Britt is far from a stopgap solution. Housh, Lee Evans, Kelley Washington, and the other veterans we have brought in in recent years were stopgap solutions. Britt is just 24 years old. If he can get his head screwed on straight and stay healthy, he could be not only a long term solution at WR, but a damn good one.

 Heck, i think they are.

I really want LQ to get in the line up and actually be targeted, if he was, i think he would move up to be our number 2 wr.

Im not so sure Britt is the type of guy this te needs... besides his horrible attitude , has the off injured wideout that blows chance after chance

No way is LaQuan Williams a number 2 wr. I see him as a slot guy. His hands aren't very good consistently. He can make some great grabs but then, for whatever reason will have a silly drop.

Very inconsistent hands. His value is on ST. He's not much of a slot guy either, because when you think of a prototypical slot receiver, you're thinking decent routes and consistently good hands. Williams is a hard worker, and I like him, I just don't see his value being as a receiver to us. And that's ok, not every single receiver has value as a starting caliber guy. Some are on teams solely because of how good they are at the dirty things such as being a gunner or whatever.

One thing I have a question on is, why did we cut an extra player to get down to 52 rather than stay at 53?? Is there a specific reason for that, or is it because we are indeed targeting a certain player?

Huh, Lq has one of the best hands on the team.  I havnt seen him have any drops, the only balls i have seen him not catch are the ones that were not catchable.

Kenny Britt beat us two years ago, then got injured. I like him, but don't see who we'd give for him.

Also like Williams, especially in consideration of his Special Teams play. Glad he hung on. Was disturbed to see Anthony Allen go. His Special Teams play was excellent from this view. His hit on Wes Welker along the sideline during a punt return helped to wear that guy out. Hope they find a way to bring him back. I'd probably let Thompson go. We don't need another "Take the Top Off" guy.

Glad Doss is gone. He just couldn't clear the defenders.

Very disturbed Furstenburg was cast off in favor of Dallas Clark. Absolutely no sense there.

Denver 5-1 to win the Superbowl.  I think we lose the opener vs Denver, but it will be fun to watch. If we can pressure Manning, you never know.

Not that I think the trade happens but mariani just went on ir again this year , I think he is about done with Tennessee .

Agreed, i think Clark over Furstenburg was because of experience alone.

Why don't we need another take the top off guy? If they decide to use Jacoby more as a returner, I think Deonte would do well helping Torrey stretch the defense.

I agree with you on Furst.

Come on. Stop being so negative. As a fan, there is no reason to believe the Broncos should beat us with their weak offensive line and both their best passrushers gone.

Saying Kenny Britt would hurt Brown and Mellettes growth doesn't make sense.Green bay had Jennings,Driver,Nelson and Jones but that didn't stop Randell Cobb from becoming a beast.Being behind Megatron and Burleson didn't stop Titus Young from having a breakout rookie season. If anything it would help them.Having them on the field as a 3rd or 4th behind Smith and Britt or Smith,Britt and either Jones or Stokley would draw attention away from them.We don't only have to play 2 or 3 wrs like we did with Cam.I'm sure Flacco,Harbaugh and Caldwell all want to give every wr on our roster some playing time this season.
