Kenny Britt Rumor

249 posts in this topic

I have no idea how credible they are, but Britt is very lazy and has problems staying healthy, plus I believe he has a string of DUIs and run-ins with the law.  Unless somehow Ray Rice has vouched for him and thinks he can help reel Britt in (and has sold the FO on this point) I don't see us making this move, especially since we had problems with the depth at wide receiver to begin with.

Interesting.  I think of all positions right now, WR is one of the ones I'm comfortable with in comparison to the rest of the roster.  I'm really worried about CB and TE right now.  I wouldn't mind grabbing Britt at all pending that his attitude and health check out with our FO and coaches.

He only played one full season, but had a great 2010. I dunno. I'm surprisingly happy about our current receiving situation. As long as Yanda stays healthy, of course.

Yes there's no doubt that he's a huge headache, but if we could get him I think we would go from being AFC contenders to being serious superbowl contenders.

It also wouldn't cost us nearly as much to get him as it would any other receiver with his talent because he's such a nut.

The on,y questions at CB is how long it takes Webb to get back to form. The rest of the top 3 are pretty good compared to most NFL teams. TE is a mess though no doubt about that.

On Britt, the dudes kind of a piece of crap. You make this trade in Madden and turn off injuries and you're looking at an unstoppable #1, #2 combo though lol.

Hell to the NO!

I don't trust him to stay healthy or clean.

I think we should give the new leaders on our team an easier time to establish themselves this season. Throwing a potential head case into the locker room, doesn't help anybody.

I don't think our TE situation is that dire. As long as Dickson is healthy we have at least an average set of TEs.

As for Britt, all we need him to do is be healthy and focused for 3 games in January/February and he greatly improves our chances to repeat. I'm sure if he was brought to a contender with a great QB like Flacco his motivation and focus would greatly improve from being on the Titans with Jake Locker as his QB.

I would love Britt on this team. Not sure about immediate upgrade over Smith but I would LOVE to have him.

Immediate upgrade OPPOSITE Smith it said. Ha, definitely not OVER Smith...

I was really high on Britt in the draft and still very high on his talents. But he hasn't proven to be a good professional. It's hard to say if Britt is just a bad guy, or a guy who just never really look grew up with the lack of leadership and that circus surrounding the titans over the last few years.

If this is true, let us remember that the Ravens were willing to take a chance on the troubled Rolando McClain because of his raw talent. There is no doubt that Britt would be a great talent opposite Torrey and Flacco would easily be the best QB he's played with. A fresh start in a great structured organization might be exactly what Kenny Britt needs.

I'd be very interesting to see how this would play out. If Britt is added he's clearly one of the top 2 WRs on this team with Torrey. If that's the case, Jacoby's role is even lesser because Stokely is still the slot guy. So you're looking at paying JJ big money to be a role player on offense and it won't even be a big role imo. So do you trade JJ for Britt? Do you redo his contract? Do you now place DT or Quan on IR? I don't see a scenario where Brown isn't apart of the offense so then what becomes of Mellette? Does he get the phantom IR injury? If true this could shake things up a bit.

It's hard for me to evaluate these mid-level player trades without thinking about what we'd have to give up. If they want a 4th rounder or something, then no. If we are giving them Jacoby for Britt AND a pick from them, then maybe. I really don't see where he fits in on our current roster as is.

Regarding the McClain comparison, this situation is completely different. For McClain, we were able to sign him at the minimum and guarantee him nothing. For Britt, we'd have to give up a high to mid round pick, and because of that, likely throw an extension at him as well. There's a lot more risk involved here.

With that being said, I still don't know. He's got tons of talent but injuries and attitude have held him back. I'm not 100% sold on the WR position, but I think the emergence of Brown and the consistency of Stokley really makes the corps a lot better. As of now, I'm not for it, but I'm not against it either. If he does end up here, I assume that's because the proper homework was done and we think he can offer a lot.

How respected and credible is the purple reign show in Baltimore? Although I've been a long time Ravens fan I don't live in Maryland.

Never heard of it. Lived here my entire life.

I've seen on Twitter that they were the first to report the McGahee to Baltimore rumors back in 2007. Not sure what that means about their credibility, but it's worth mentioning. But like the comment above, I've never heard of them.

He really hasnt done much in this league. The hype is unwarranted

His talent is legit. He destroyed us in a game a couple years ago and I know he had 200+ yards in a single game before. His problem is suspensions and injuries. Clearly they are not minor issues but he has number 1 WR written all over him otherwise.
