2013 NFL predictions: Experts

The Bengals are really trendy this year with Hard Knocks and all, they're this years Texans. I'd say at least two people showed the champs some respect, but Daniel Jeremiah is one of our own.

Judy Battista: Cincinnati Bengals. The "Bungles" no more. If Andy Dalton can elevate his play, the powerhouse defense should make Cincy a legitimate contender

If..."IF" ANDY DALTON can elevate his play..."if." Now, what crystal ball are these people looking at thats says thats going to happen? It's going to happen because they "say" its going to happen. Seriously? Dalton is a solid QB during the regular season but his stats against winning and playoff teams is beyond abysmal. Why any football pundit would put their trust in him, and then add in Marvin Lewises 79 wins 80 loses in 10 years at Cincy, makes the annual "we love the Bengals" slobberfest entertaining as hell.

Experts have studied the game but no one knows the future. Experts can only guess just like the rest of us. Unpredictable injuries and when those injuries occur always play a part. So, to guess which team wins the Superbowl is always a shot in the dark followed by a lot of ifs.

I'm used to us never being picked by the "experts." Personally, I'm glad we have all these new pieces. We can just fly right under the radar while the media darling Bengals will fall flat when it counts.

We seem to do better that way.

2000, 2003, 2006, 2008, and of course last year are all great examples. Yet they still won't give us credit.

I also remember when we were favorites for all but one game in 2011. We had an other great Ravens signature 12-4 record, but we didn't lose to teams who made the playoffs that year, like the Steelers or the 49ers or the Texans. No, we lost to the Titans, Jags, Chargers, and Seahawks. None of those teams made the playoffs.

In short, who cares what they say. Somebody, I think it might even have been a Steelers player, said something like this: "Football isn't played behind a computer. It's played on the field.

We are the Baltimore Ravens and they are the Cincinnati Bengals. Nature will take it's course.

we say we like it...but then come in here and complain about it!  so do we really "like" being the underdogs when we feel our team deserve their recognition OR do we say we "like" it to mask our pain of being rejected once again?  hmmm...LOL!!!

seriously though....I like these cats responses:

Daniel Jeremiah: Baltimore Ravens. The improved health of core defenders (Terrell Suggs, Haloti Ngata and Lardarius Webb) will key another division title for Joe Flacco and coach John Harbaugh.

Adam Schein: Ravens. No Ray Lewis? No Ed Reed? With Elvis Dumervil and a healthy Terrell Suggs and Lardarius Webb, the champs will be better on D. Second-year running back Bernard Pierce will aid Joe Flacco.

Remember "they" said last year that we were too old. "They" also gave Indy, the Broncos, and the Patriots, and the 49ers a considerable point spread lead of beating us. I think that "they" are not as smart as "they" think "they" are.

I don't find it that bad. The Bengals are a young team with a great defense poised to take the next step. We lost some key players and people think we are on the downswing, although most who didn't pick us to win the division picked us to get a wild card spot.

Of course, I think we will win the division but it's probably going to come down to the last week or two with Cincy. I'm just glad the Steelers are nowhere to be found!
