City of Denver has many large Joe Flacco posters up for kickoff

113 posts in this topic

The controversial calls/non-calls which benefited the Ravens in both games were far from game deciding.

You can stop going out of your way to mention the officiating with every post.

as a 49er fan...Flacco is not overhyped at all...He is one of the most pure, precise passers  - throwing superb spirals - I have seen in a long time...He seems like a cool guy too! One would have to be a Scrooge to have a problem with him.

Hey man - kind words and pretty refreshing to hear.  Nobody outside Baltimore says stuff like this.  Except maybe Jaws.

I like the fact that it would not bother you if we played the game that night, but what's the deal with other people being so worried about it being a holiday?? Last I checked, they play games on both Thanksgiving and Christmas. Christmas is a religious holiday celebrated by many, many more people than Rosh Hashanah.

Agreed. Not to mention they played a game on Rosh Hashanah last season...

I'm thinking that people are starting to come around to the idea that Flacco really is a good Qb... key word, "starting" to. If Flacco continues his progression, and builds on his playoff success, then people will have no choice but to accept the fact that Flacco is a great Qb.

Exactly. This has more to do about ratings than anything though. Actually, ratings may be the only factor weighing into the fact that they are playing this game on a Thursday vs. Wednesday.

The poor little Denver Donkey fans are really crying the blues over on their forum.

They are huge crybabies and not looking at how the NFL spoon fed them the best

bulletin board material they could possibly get about being disrespected.

The comment in the initial link of "IMO, Joe Flacco is the most overhyped and overrated QB ever" can be nothing but severe sour grapes of a hostile Bronco fan; as a 49er fan, I empathize with the Bronco fans in seeing the Ravens as an agent of disappointment, but such remarks carry no reason at all. Trust me from a football fan immersed in New York City sports circles (ie, lot of out of towners who wear their colors on Sundays), Flacco is not overhyped at all; fans still, on whole, speak of Brady and Manning as the ruling class of QBs (with Brees and Rodgers in the same breath), and Wilson and Kaepernick as the ultimate QB fantasy choices for 2013. Flacco is neither not overrated at all, even if only because he isn't mentioned enough, comparatively, as the reigning Super Bowl champion QB. He is one of the most pure, precise passers - throwing superb spirals - I have seen in a long time (the Kurt Warner of 2000-2001 merits comparison, and Joe Montana comparisons need not be scoffed at). Even his 'rainbows' have a perfect spiral with accurate trajectory. He seems like a cool guy too! One would have to be a Scrooge to have a problem with him.

I don't mind the extreme disappointment, and talk of payback, but this vitriol exuded by some Bronco and 49er fans of 'they cheated' and the games being 'fixed' is ludicrous. The controversial calls/non-calls which benefited the Ravens in both games were far from game deciding. Overall, John Fox and Jim Harbaugh (even Belichick, perhaps) were simply outcoached, IMHO - and that counts a lot.

Good luck on that Thursday night. I might be in my favorite sports bar!

James :)

The word "karma" comes to mind. Bronco fans were horrible last year. Ever since they signed Peyton they've acted like they're the greatest football team ever assembled. At least Patriot and Steeler fans have history to support their arrogance. This is the football Gods telling them to get over themselves.

Because they all think we cheated them out of a Superbowl with a "lucky" play, that's why.

And they would be right.

Wow bro you got him!

10/10

Simply epic.

The Ravens didn't cheat the Broncos out of anything. They lost, plain and simple. Fumble less next time.

The Bronco fans I know are frothing like a group of sick donkeys with altitude sickness . Manning has become more of a crybaby about the banners . And just when he showed tremendous class by meeting with Ray after the game to congratulate him .

The conversation over there has gone from "I'm pissed off aboput the posters" to a general slagging on Balto. with incredible classlessness on prominant dispaly throughout.

Did th NFL do anything similar to this for last year's opener (DAL@NYG)?

Yeah it's getting pretty sad over there. Our moderators would never allow that stuff to go on. It only took a few short weeks last season for me to be convinced that Bronco fans are actually worse than Steeler AND Patriot fans which is hard to believe. This hissy fit they are displaying right now does nothing to change that.

If that's their "polite" forum, I gotta check out the "smack" one.

Oh I'm sorry that Joe threw 2 back-breaking interceptions after he was declared the savior - Oh wait, that was YOUR quarterback, Peyton "regular-season" Manning.  What's sad is you think your team would even have been within 10 points of us without 2 lucky punt returns.

I'll take Pats fans and Steelers fans over the Broncos whiners all day. At least they have history behind their arrogance. Broncos fans get Horseface Manning and all of a sudden they feel entitled to a Super Bowl. But Horseface will punch his AARP card soon enough, and after that happens they'll fade back into irrelevance.

That's the thing Denver fans always take for granted.  Calling us the lucky ones.  Without those two special teams TD's it could have ended in regulation time and without any chance of the thunder ponies bucking back.  Just can't wait for the #Repeat next week!

I thought Steeler fans were the worst until we beat the Donkeys & Sixtyniners . Man they are the biggest NFL whiners on the planet .
