We all knew he was a product of the system and benefited by being across from a defensive player of the year. I guess Lombardi missed the memo. That's pretty pathetic though. One sack in six games for a guy who got paid 40 million? I can't wait to see Paul in an upcoming Top10 worst FA signings of all time on NFLNetwork.

And, to think, out of all the free agency losses that went to another team (Boldin, Ellerbe, Kruger, Pollard, Reed and Cary Williams), Bernard Pollard has been, by far, having the best success, elsewhere. Yeah, I know Boldin is doing everything he can to make a difference on a team without any recievers; but, nothing can compare to the leader that Pollard has become for the Titans. I'm happy for him.

I don't want to get off-topic, as this thread is about Paul Kruger; but, no matter how much of a favorite Bernard Pollard was of mine, I still stand by the idea that his penalties are something this team can't afford, at the moment.

Sure, the defense is much improved from last year. But, while he had the "Play Like a Raven" mentality, there were times when he got the best of himself with his game-changing hits. And, in today's NFL, Pollard is an easy target for the referees to have a field day with, unfortunately.

Since you brought this up, how many penalties has Pollard received this year? I'm not being sarcastic.

Also, is Kruger playing every down?

Surprisingly, Pollard's only had one penalty, so far, this year. It was a defensive pass interference against the Chargers: http://www.nflpenalties.com/player/b-pollard-tennessee-titans?year=2013

However, he had a number of calls in the preseason, for some reason. Plus, there was that whole "controversial" hit against Andre Johnson, in which Johnson got a concussion from. Pollard wasn't flagged for the hit; but, suffered a $42 K fine because of it.

So I guess this has become the "Tracking Former Ravens" Thread? No problem. I think the Browns made a huge mistake by giving all that money to Kruger. I liked him as a person, but he was only good in special blitz packages, and I think that is showing in Cleveland. He has 16 tackles and only one sack so far. It also showed through the first 6 games last year before Suggs came back, when Kruger had to do more than just rush the quarterback. He wasn't very effective.

I liked Pollard, but as has been stated, his big hits overshadowed a weakness in coverage. There also seemed to be some bitterness between him and Harbaugh, which probably played a part in the release. I'm glad we got that out of the way.

I'm also happy for Boldin, and he would benefit even more in SF had another wideout to draw coverage away from him.

It's always nice to be completely proven right about a player. Still with all their defensive talent you'd think Kruger would have a bit more production.
