kid seems special

He's only gonna get better with the return of Pitta. Think about it. With the Ravens already moving to a predominately 3WR 1TE set this year without Pitta now it becomes so tough for the defense to defend our guys.

If we are in 3 wide, you'd assume the defense is in nickle. The big problem comes from the defense figuring out how to cover Pitta. If you cover him with a LB or S, it's an instant mismatch. If you decide to cover him with a CB, now you allow Brown to work against a LB or S.  If you come out in Dime that gives Flacco a tremendous amount of space to operate in with the ability to call run or pass.

Marlon Brown will have a huge finish to the season and really make a name for himself heading into the playoffs. If this offense comes together like I think it will starting Monday Night, i'm predicting Brown's numbers to look like this over the last 3 games. 16rec 216yds 2TDs

36 catches, 412 yards, 6 TDs, and counting. :)

What a success story he is turning out to be. Very happy for him!

Making that fantastic game winning catch under that kind of pressure will boost Brown's on field confidence tremendously. There's a lot to be said for that kind of experience and it may be a point we look back on and say that's where the greatness began.

Deserved.

Ravens rookie Marlon Brown wins Pepsi Next NFL Rookie of the Week

very much so. I'm excited to see this guys continue to grow in this offense. Also what he doesn't over the remaining 4-7 games or so will really give us a good insight on where this team might need to go at WR in the draft. Either more of a slot guy or more of an outside guy. But that's something we've already talked about in the draft forum. Don't wanna take away from Marlon here.

I thought it was interested to hear Flacco's comments about Marlon. He said he didn't realize just how tall and big Marlon was and actually thought Torrey was taller then him. I've always thought Marlon played big and used his size well, but he seemed to have much more body control in the Vikings game and that's encouraging. Brown will start to see a lot more favorable matchups with Pitta back, I wonder if Flacco starts to develop that same type of trust in Brown that he had in Boldin. Even if hes covered give him a shot?

I could see them developing that trust. I see similiar body control and ability to attack the ball in both Marlon and Boldin. Its just Boldin was as strong as a DT which gave him a big advantage in those jump balls.

I was wondering how do you think we will develop Marlon in the future? Keep him as a slot WR or have him work the outside more where he can use his size and and ability to attack the ball in deep situations. He isnt super fast like Torrey but he is fast enough to be a legit deep threat with his size and aggressiveness.

I think he's much better suited for the slot but if need be he could be an outside threat. Just because he's a slot guy doesn't mean that he won't be also given chances to make plays down field. His height, body type and explosive play will make him a great weapon for Flacco underneath and over the middle. I actually think he's the perfect compliment to what Pitta brings inside as well so I'd love to see him remain in the slot.

Again I think he could be a outside guy, but I'd much rather see him on the inside to maximize his talents.

Flacco has been catching some Marlon all year. I just hope he sticks, ya know? I would like for Jacoby to return next year but we look to be in cap hell. But I love our top 3 WRs, Flacco has some great rapport with them.

Marlon "Not a clown

Wears a gown

Full of win

It's a sin

He's the king

He wears a crown

That's how he gets down

All around

Turn that frown upside-down

So tall his head's in the clouds

Don't make a sound

He's like a ball hound

Pound for pound

That's a noun" Brown.

I am not into nicknames to be honest.  I am really not into nicknames for rookies.  Suggs on the other hand I am okay with calling sizzle... Flacco I am okay with Joe Cool.  I think Suggs has def earned a nickname being DPOY and Flacco being superbowl MVP.  Marlon Brown really hasn't won any awards yet and without Flacco he wouldn't be bout to break Smith's short lived record.
