KVV (ESPN) Article on Joe Flacco

Man some tough words by Joe:

"

The defense felt like they had the kind of ability that they did in 2000, and that wasn't necessarily the truth

...

but I don't think they'd won more than one playoff game from the time they won the Super Bowl in 2000 to the time I got there. So we obviously needed to take another step."

Tough words, but also true. So much for Joe no being able speak his mind.

I've said this for a long time - that ive seen the potential in Joe to be a leader and stand up to some of the top QBs in the NFL but was "held back" from the big stats and the spot light bc of the winning formula in Baltimore... run the ball, big plays downfield, and defense.

It takes a lot for a man to get a beating all day every day in the media, know that you have the ability to prove everyone wrong, yet bite your tongue so to speak bc its best for the team.

He'll have great stats when the game plan calls for it. And he'll hand the ball of 30 times without complaint if it leads to a win.

Not really true, depending on what he meant.

2001: the Ravens won in the wildcard to the Dolphins, then got bounced out by the Steelers. (1 playoff win)
2002: missed the playoffs, deassembled the team

2003: Lost to the Titans in the wildcard, that field goal...sigh.
2004: Missed the playoffs, hello Kyle Boller years.
2005: Missed the playoffs, went 6-10, which secured us Ngata >_>
2006: Hello Steve McNair, went 13-3, got a 1st round bye, and knocked out by the Colts...

2007: missed the playoffs

holy hell. He's right. One playoff win in a seven year span. Good god, I thought he meant that we didn't win more than one playoff game in a playoff series. And we only made the playoffs 3 times that whole span.

*hugs Joe Flacco tight*

Also, uh, after seeing what happens when Marshal Yanda or Bryant McKinnie go down...I wonder what free agent offensive linemen will be available next year. Joe needs protection.

After Joe,

2008: 2 wins, lost in the AFC Championship to Pittsburgh -_-
2009: 1 win, lose in the divisonal round to Manning destroying us and Flacco's 0 TD/2 ints
2010: 1 win, lose in the divisonal round to Boldin and Housh drops against Pittsburgh

2011: 1 win, lose in the divisional round to Lee Evans drop against New England.

2012: Pick up the majestical 4 wins.

1 playoff win in 7 years before Joe Flacco and John Harbaugh.

9 playoff wins in 5 years after Joe Flacco and John Harbaugh.
