Jaworski: Ravens Are Best Team In AFC

96 posts in this topic

Oh man. I want to watch this so badly but it will have to wait until I leave work. Thanks though. Ron Jaworski has always been a Ravens supporter.

"You look at numbers, I look at the tape". Loved when Jaws said that.

How may times is Skip going to bring up QBR ratings? LOL

Thanks for posting this.

Joe and the team are going to have to put the #'s up AND WIN to shut Skip up once and for all. That's the only way to do it.

I always love watching segments that feature Jaws in it. He has vast knowledge about the game, and is definitely the exact opposite of a talking head that ESPN craps out on a daily basis. He has always been a Ravens supporter, and I respect that. He doesn't just support us because he's a homer, because he is definitely far from a homer. He supports us because he believes in us, and he realizes that we are much better than your average media talking head gives us credit for. This guy is smart, and he's savvy. He has class. What's not to like about the guy?

The only #'s that matter at the end of the day are Super Bowls. You can have the Saints meaningless regular season stats, I'll take super bowls any day of the week. If we put up numbers without a super bowl, then we'll be remembered as failures. If we put up decent regular season numbers, but win a super bowl, then that is the only thing that matters when we look back on history.

He has caught a lot of heat for this and his Kaepernick comments but l always like hearing him. Like Chris Berman, He has always supported our organization where on ESPN, support is impossible to come by.

BTW, can never watch a skip/flacco video without hearing that stupid stat.

Frankly, I don't think 3 consecutive SB titles would shut Skippy's mouth. I'm starting to think they pay him to say rediculous stuff just to stir up the show. I mean, NO ONE can be that clueless about football when thier getting paid to know about it, right? *cough*

My thoughts as I was watching this...

Jaws sounds very reasonable with his arguments, he debates very well.

Skip is the definition of a Troll, he dogs Ray Lewis and Ed Reed for being over the hill and not worst the impact they make and then flips and says they are the reason the Ravens made the Super Bowl. SMH

Who the *bleep* exactly is Danny Kanell and why does his opinion matter when compared to guys like Jaws and Skip?

I didn't realize that Ray and Ed were the only guys on the Ravens that knew how to study film and that the coaches can't coach without them there... right ;)

Jaws is the first guy I've heard that hasn't been touting Boldin as the greatest receiver in the world (hyperbole there).

Jaws has his finger on the pulse on Joe Flacco's psyche, he gets him better than any analyst I've heard.

Jaws is driving the Flacco bandwagon and Skip is driving the Tebow bandwagon, who's opinion do I think is more accurate?

Love that there was no mention of Cameron neutering the offense for 12 of the regular season games.

Jaws: Wins > Stats... AMEN

Jaws: 1

The Other "Analysts": -5 (In my debating rules you loose points for bad arguments :P)

Yeah he brings up that point non stop.

It's funny how they all agree that Flacco is a winner, but then point out some arbitrary thing like two bad games QBR wise and the potential pressure of signing that huge contract.

This is great. Jaworski is smart. It's about time our team gets some actual recognition like this, we were doubted last season up until the superbowl. As soon as after we won people were saying how we were gonna be bad this year. Well guess what? I agree we are one of the best, if not the best team in the AFC. I'm glad Jaworski does too.

Well obviously the WINS go along with the #'s. That's what I meant.

Yeah I'm glad someone finally pointed that out to SKip who has been milking that point all off-season. Q was unbelievable for us last year for sure, but people don't understand that if he was able to get separation consistently he wouldn't have needed to make contested catches.

Not necessarily. The 2007 Patriots had all the numbers in the world. They arguably had the best offense ever. But who won the super bowl that year?? A team that did not have the greatest numbers and barely made the playoffs. I could pull up more examples like this, such as our team last year, but the point is the same.

Didn't Manning have a horrible game against the Falcons? But Skip never brings that up when talking about him. Every QB has bad games. Joe has 2 and that's all Skip can talk about? What a joke.

I'm not sure where Danny is getting the assumption that because Joe got a big contract, he has to be the best QB statistically this year (thats what i get from his comments). In a run based offense like ours, he is not going to be with the top QB's statistically every year. I thank Jaws for bringing that up.  And i also thank him for pointing out Q is not Megatron like all the dumb analysts seem to believe. The only thing on Joe's mind is improving and to continue to win games.

Before the Superbowl, we weren't going to win because Ray Lewis and the D was old.  Now we won the Superbowl because of Ray and Ed  So what will be your excuse this year Skip?  Glad Jaws stood up for us.

Just to answer that if it was serious, he was a former NFL QB, mostly a career backup. If we're comparing the 3, IMO he's closer to Jaws in validity than anything that comes out of Skip Bayless' mouth. It is funny though that he brings up quarterback stats like yards, TDs, completion percentage when he never started a full NFL season, never threw for even 2000 yards in a season, his highest TDs in a season was 11 (what Joe was able to do in 4 playoff games, interestingly enough), and highest completion percentage 54%.

Wow, As a long time joe skeptic and someone who looks at my raven team objectively.....

This is without a doubt the only time ive seen someone who gets Joe and this team. Idiots like Skip don't know piss about football. Their whole job is drama and making crap up for ratings.

Sports Casting and news in general is a farce of what it once was.  The Sports world could use more level headed, logical, and articulate men like Jaworski.

lol Skip worships at the idol of QBR, a made up ESPN stat.

He also conveniently ignored Joe's QBR in the Superbowl, since the stat has started being used I believe Joe has the best QBR of any QB in the Superbowl.

I think he knew that. I think what he was asking is "how does Danny K rank in the world of NFL QBs to give an opinion that matters or should matter to anybody"

Ok so in some ways he knows more than Skip, but he came across as "a company man" who had to toe the "Ravens suck" line that everyone at ESPN seems to be following these days.

Well, you beat me to posting this topic! Man, I love Jaworksi so much. He makes so much sense when he talks. He made Danny Who and Skip Clueless look silly and red in the face.

I loved it when Ron countered Danny Who with "You look at stats and I watch tapes"!

If I were Steve Bisciotti I would pay Ron to go around speaking the truth about the Ravens and Flacco! What an ambassador for us! Thanks Ron from the bottom of all Ravens' fans hearts!
