I'm a huge Pierce fan. People got on my case for my mock draft last year, when I had us taking him in the 4th round despite having Rice. So when I say that, you can assured that I am not knocking Pierce when I say : stop embarrassing yourself. Just stop. This is the time of year for low-contract trades. Something to do with the way the salary cap works and because teams have an idea of who they want to cut.

No offense SAM,, but no trade involving any significant WR is going to happen.
Looking at our roster, cap situation, and the salaries of our more marketable guys, I wouldnt hold your breath waiting for an announcement.
Unless you are expecting a guy like Andre Roberts or someone of that stature.

You could say he is maybe a better pure runner, but he is not a better rusher overall. Been seeing stuff on this board like "we could trade Ray Rice" when Ray Rice is the guy opposing teams game plan for in the run or pass game. Rice is still a quicker, more agile, and smarter back with better vision as a runner. He is still the better rusher just a different style. You guys are confused man...........

I think its hilarious that trading for Delone Carter and saving a whopping $75K suddenly makes a Ray Rice trade make sense. My IQ has dropped considerably reading some of these posts.

I have talked about the std deviation of his runs on here before and his feast or famine style makes it hard to sustain drives. 

 

Benard is good for 4-6 yards per rush. That is what is needed to go 2 and 5 or 3 and 1.  We have way to many 3 and 7 or longer beacuse rice is either run for 10 yards or run for 1/2.

 

Rice was 11 in yardage and 18th in YPCarry.........Not even close to Pro bowl or $10M a year. His 478 yds and 1 TD in the passing game is not that impresive considering he barley cracks top 10 in YPCatch.

i agree. rie has lost his burst in small spaces. he can make that big play but it wouldnt shock me to see him struggle this year. ive noticed the decline. pierce for me should be the starting rb with rice an outfield slot reciver or we trade him. his best football is not infront of him. he has a lot of mileage for a rb evn though hes only 26-27.we could gt awesom value for him based on his reputation moreso thn his future production.

What do you mean he isn't quick? He is a quick and shifty as ever, he is in his prime. Do your homework man, that offensive line was pretty lame in terms of run blocking so we really only ran up the middle and everyone knew we were coming. Sure Ray Rice doesn't try to truck dudes and he does dive more than taking on defenders head on but thats what I mean by different rushers. He was always better as a guy in space and a big playmaker. That is why we have our zone blocking scheme instead of pure power rush. Rice still can lower the boom when in position and all this talk of him slowing down is ridiculous. Then its bad enough you are over hyping up an injury prone slasher type runner whose durability is untested. Dude already has had 3 or 4 concussions that we know about and is always nicked up and bruised since college. Ray Rice makes everything easier for Flacco,something Pierce won't really do. Did you miss 4th and 29?Did you miss the bland predictable run calls? Did you miss the offensive line run blocking like crap? Guess we watched two different Ray Rices,two different Ravens teams,two different offensive lines. Guess we are in two different dimensions huh. Or you just don't know football.

Your wrong on just about everything. Wow rice's 29 and 4th..........yea good play. Blocking was half that play.

 

If the Oline is SOOOO bad, then why does Piece not have the same problems.

 

Get real. Rice is past his prime, and is nothing but an expensive average rusher who can catch balls out of the backfield.

You ignore statistics and facts. He has slowed down, does not have the burst nor the nose for holes anymore.

 

Hell, Bell, Reece and Sprolles ALL had more yards recieving out of the backfield and 2/3 of them had less targets and receptions.  

 

You need to stop, you don't know what your talking about. If you actualy watched the games, its clear as day.
