Ravens Trade WR/KR David Reed to Colts for RB Delone Carter

272 posts in this topic

My inside sources have told me not to say who it is, because they don't want sites like Bleacherreport or PFT running the player off.

PM me then. I won't leak it. Lets see how good your source is.

Okay I like what Ozzie did here, although I don't completely understand it. What is really the end game here? How much extra cap space did we recover? These are questions that I need answered. I suppose the next couple of weeks will shed light on Ozzie's real plan...

This is simply getting something for a guy that would have been cut in the next couple of weeks.

Lets put it like this....

Last year Carter had 32 carries for 122 yards and 3 TD.

That is the equivalent of one great game as a starter, or 3 awesome performances as a backup.

What has Reed done again? Other than those fumbles and smoke all Ricky Williams' weed....

To be fair, he did have that great return vs. the Texans.

Do you know who we might trade away? I hope it's not Bernard Pierce...

Didn't read through all this but what is Carter's cap hit?

$555K this year and $645K next year. None guaranteed.

$550,000.  Indy pays his bonus.  We save about $75K.  (source: Brian McFarland)

Oh so we just got a camp body that we can cut and not lose any money which saves us from cutting Reed and eating his salary

Good move

Colts fans are saying that Carter has a bad case of the fumbles.

Well what do you know! That's what they got in return

So do the contracts of both players follow to next team?  And what would the hit be if Carter didn't make the team?

Smart move . Here's why . We plan on using Ray Rice in the slot along with others . This could increase the chance of injury with catches over the middle . This move is insurance at the running back position and very smart .

I chuckled when I read the headline. Weren't they just saying that they "loved" what Reed brought to the table especially on special teams? I thought Eisenberg said Reed was a lock to make the team in one of the site's videos.

Inside sources are telling me that we're about to pull off a move for a pretty good receiver. Might happen, might not.

I heard Hakeem Knicks from some people, not sure because the Giants just signed him this offseason.

Could you imagine? After everything else this offseason... Hilarious.

If anyone complained about the WR situation after that I'd lmao

Now that I've thought more about it, Pierce is a big piece of our offense. We need a good back up, for our back up.

...Or we could of just traded him to dump Reed's contract. It's clear to me that Reed wasn't going to make the team. Good move.

I've also heard this from a few people here and there.
